Adding citric acid to your Dish or Laundry soap will help reduce soap scum in hard water, and can even help reduce chances for DOS (Dreaded Orange Spots).
The reaction between Citric Acid and Sodium Hydroxide produces Sodium Citrate that acts as a Chelator by binding to the minerals and metals in your water and in the process improves the effectiveness of your soap. This is a lovely zero waste, vegan soap that produces a lot of bubbles with a high cleansing value. It can be used as a dish or laundry soap.

Citric Acid in soap.
You can use 1% to 3% (in relation to your oil weight) of Citric Acid in your soap recipe
10grams of Citric Acid will neutralize about 6,24 grams of NaOH or 8,42 grams of KOH
Dissolve the Citric Acid in your water before adding lye,
WARNING because of the acidity the solution can bubble up when the lye is added. Make sure you use a large container with plenty of head-space to mix in, alternatively you can place your lye container in another container or work in the zink.
The recipe used in the video (1000grams of Dish Soap with a 0,5% Superfat)
634grams Coconut oil (100%)
231grams Water
115grams NaOH + 4gram NaOH to adjust for the Portion of lye neutralized by the CA
12 grams Citric Acid ( 1% of the Oil weight)

How to use Kombucha tea in soap making. Adjustments to make to compensate for the lye neutralization due to the acidity of the Kombucha, included is a Kombucha Soap Recipe.

06:50 Demonstration
20:00 Medium Trace
21:00 Fragrance Oil Acceleration
22:00 Aaarg! Sushi Rice
23:00 Unmold and Cut
27:45 Lather Test
Recipe Formulation:
Tallow Beef 30%
Olive Oil 28%
Coconut Oil, 22%
Castor Oil 10%
Shea Butter 10%
Full water replacement with Kombucha (Frozen)
28gram of 5% vinegar neutralizes 1gram of NaOH
If you formulate your recipe with a super fat you need to adjust the NaOH if you don't want the SF to be increased even more.
If you formulate your recipe without a Super Fat and don't add NaOH the acidity in the Kombucha will create a Super Fat according to how acidic the liquid is.
