This time, I'm making a set of Guitar Spatulas for an upcoming repair job. These are used to separate fretboards and bridges. I made these from some pallet banding. The construction is very similar to knife making. They turned out great, and homemade tools are always the best.

I needed to rout a small pickup cavity for this 3 string Cigar Box Guitar I'm working on and none of my pickup templates fit this little humbucker. I decided to create a new template that fits this pickup. I drew it out based on the measurements, and cut it out on the scrollsaw. After some filing and sanding I now have a custom sized template that will last a long time. Making templates like this is a great way to get accurate and repeatable results when routing cavities for your project.

A shooting board is a handy jig to have in your shop. It allows you to square up the edges of a board in preparation for glue up or joinery. I'm building my shooting board to help me joint the parts for the top and back of my acoustic guitar project. Even if you don't make instruments, you'll find many other uses around your shop for this jig. I highly recommend you build yourself one.

In the first part of this guitar build, I got the body done. Now its time to make a neck. I'm using an awesome flamed maple neck blank for this build. Its actually a lefty neck that I'll be using for this project so I can have a reverse headstock. I need to rout the slots for a pair of carbon fiber rods, make a fretboard, install fretboard markers, install the frets, and finally shape the neck by hand. After completing all of that, I now have a sweet looking flamed maple neck for this build. I'm really liking how this neck turned out and can't wait to see it with some finish on it.

In this video, I'm installing a K&N Cold Air Intake on my 2007 Chevy Trailblazer with the 4.2L engine. The kit I have is Part Number 63-3062. It is specific for my model vehicle. Its an easy installation and provides a noticeable increase in power. These are definitely worth the money, in my opinion. #K&N #coldairintake #trailblazer

Here's a quick and very effective method for filling wood grain, or filling around Finger Joints, Box Joints, Dovetail Joints or any other kind of joint that doesn't fix exactly perfect. All you need for this method is some Polyurethane and some sandpaper. We're going to apply some poly to the joint and sand the poly into the wood. This creates a slurry of Sawdust and Polyurethane. After a little while, the joints should be filled in and much less noticeable.
