When you're the technical arts director at one for the country's leading churches, what fears and challenges do you need to overcome? Why do you stop doing the popular Guru's of Tech Conference? How do you keep from burning out, even when you're always in the tech booth? These are just some of the questions I asked Todd Elliott, technical arts director at Willow Creek when I talked to him in this interview.
It's long, but he says so much good stuff, that I couldn't cut it. Stay until the end; you won't regret it.
This show is recorded live every Wednesday at 11a edt, 8a pdt, 3p utc on http://churchtechcast.com. Watch it live and join the chat then.

http://TrinityDigitalMedia.com/church-tech How to put persistent video over all of your slides
[tweet "Just in time for Christmas: Here's how to put a video of falling snow over all your slides in ProPresenter 5:"]
I've shown you how to add a video with transparency to one slide, but how do you do it with multiple slides? It's really not that hard. Here's a hint: It's not a background or foreground video.

Here's what the head of marketing at Renewed Vision had to say about it: "We are so excited to announce a new venture here in the ProPresenter User's Group. We are are now the Official ProPresenter User's Group!
For the last few months Paul, who has been leading this group since the beginning, and I have been working on seeing what it would look like to partner together to really take our group to the next level. To start off, we knew we wanted Renewed Vision to be a part of the group in a more official role. This gives us the ability to help answer questions better, take in feedback about our apps, and continue to innovate based on customer feedback. We also knew that we wanted to make sure Paul could do his thing and continue to promote TrinityDigitalMedia.com.
We couldn't wait to share that we are now partnering in a greater way to run the Official ProPresenter User Group together. We love each other's heart for the community, and we just knew that together we could provide the best opportunity for people to come together and talk about how they are using ProPresenter and other Renewed Vision software in a healthy & engaging environment!
To that end, we want to welcome our new moderators who are on the Support Team at Renewed Vision as they will be answering questions from time to time.
This will be the same ProPresenter User's Group it has always been providing, tips, tricks, hacks, and support, with the added benefit of more users who have a technical support background!
Paul & I are still excited to be running the group together and engaging you all in conversation, developing tutorials, and showing off cool Pro features. We love you, our community, and we are excited about the future together!
*While this is an "official" group according to Renewed Vision now, it is still not the official support channel, if a question is in-depth the best place to find support is at https://support.renewedvision.com/hc/en-us
where the support team can work one on one to ensure you get the best possible service and solutions.*"

Some of you REALLY need the subject of today’s FREE YouTube tutorial. You might be spending hours each week adding chord symbols to your songs.
That’s all well and good UNTIL you need to change keys. Then, you have to redo that work again.
If there’s a last-minute change, forget it. It’s too late.
Well all that is a thing of the past with this feature in ProPresenter 7.8.
If you subscribe to the right plans with Multitracks.com (here's the link: https://www.multitracks.com/products/propresenterimport), you can just search for the song, import the lyrics and have the chords there already. Need to change keys? No problem, it’s two clicks away.

On today's Tech, No Babel: Video production: What's a DA and how do you use it?
DA (here's an affiliate link for the one I use from Amazon: https://amzn.to/2uQ70WH) doesn't stand for district attorney (in this case). It's distribution amplifier. Let's look at those words. Distribution means to send something to different places. An amplifier increases signal. So, a DA amplifies and then splits the signal. That's important. A splitter takes a signal and splits it in half. A DA starts with a signal of a certain strength and then splits it to send the same strength signal to both locations.

Why would you use it?
If you want to send the same thing to two locations, a DA is a perfect choice. Looping out of the projector might not give you the best results.
There are multiple types of DAs. The most basic ones are 1 in and 2 out. Others can be 1 in 4 out. One of these might be a great idea for lobby TVs or to a local monitor, two projectors, and a confidence monitor.

Last month, I did a lot of freelancing, including setting up and teching a meeting at a mid-sized conference in my area. There was a point where there were 4 people doing the job of one or two because they were using PowerPoint and Windows Media player instead of more robust this got me thinking. Could you use ProPresenter for Business?

You probably haven't scratched the surface of all it can do. For example, did you know that you can layer things on top of one another?
Here's the thing though. You need to know what goes on what layer in order to decide what to put on what layer.
From top to bottom, they are:
