We bought a new Carrier Duraedge 1.5 ton split Air conditioner and this is what it did after we installed it. It would turn on, cool a little and then switch itself off within 60 seconds and the operation light keeps blinking. After some frustrating phonecalls to the dealer and Carrier, they finally diagnosed a faulty sensor and had to change the sensor and fan unit. I wasn't there to supervise the person changing the parts and hope they are new. It seems to be working well after that. It's always frustrating to get stuck with a defective new product.
