SMBbot plays Super Mario Bros. World 8 in 19:58

Inspired by MarI/O and LuigI/O, I've made my own SMBbot, except that it's not AI, it's what I call an "Artificial Idiot", for it's really DUMB. It doesn't read map, doesn't read level information, doesn't evolve, doesn't have much memory. It basically just jumps randomly, and loads savestates after dying or bumping into a wall.
Yet the performance is very satisfying for such a simple script. It's able to complete the entire World 8 in 19:58 without Turbo, with 2026 retry, and in speedrun style!
For the final World, 8-4 is the hardest level. To solve 8-4, I added a PipeMazeMode in which Mario presses down every time he lands where the pipe exit isn't a loop. The second stage requires a wall jump, which is tough for a bot that doesn't read map.
So much for this version. Don't know if I'll ever update this. I will share the script after finishing a whole warpless TAS with SMBbot.

Demonstration of 3 boss glitches. Not sure if these were already known.
The first one is about the fake Jet Stingray showing after the car race, and both X and Zero can kill him with some regular weapons, but it's strange that he can't be damaged using the ice weapon (both X and Zero) and the giga attack of X.
The second one is Web Spider's HP bar glitch after being hit into -1 HP.
The third one, on the contrary, is Jet Stingray not dying after being hit into -1 HP. There's a way to hit Jet Stingray twice using Frost Tower, which is shown 3 times in this demonstration. I wonder if it can be used in TASes or with Zero.

Fully voice (pitch) control Super Mario Bros., an extremely hard new challenge.

My method: I use pitch detection with Waves Tune Real-Time, and I've written an AutoHotKey script to read note information from the screen.
The voice input delay using this method is large, making it extremely difficult to do precise jumps and movements.
I set 13 notes, from A2 to G4, combining them with key inputs, listed on the screen. For example, when I sing B3, corresponding → + B, Mario runs to the right.
Please like and comment if you like this idea. Hopefully I'll beat SMB with my voice one day.

The timing difference makes RTA record seem shorter than TAS record, but still, it's close enough.
TAS saves time in 1-2, 4-2, 8-1, 8-2 & 8-4, using faster acceleration, going through the wall, flagpole glitch, etc. Darbian ties with TAS in 1-1, 4-1 & 8-3 using flagpole glitch.
TAS is NOT programming. It's human creating exciting movies using emulators.

Yet the performance is very satisfying for such a simple script. It's able to complete the entire World 5 in 04:46 without Turbo, with only 448 retry, and in speedrun style!
5-3 is the hardest stage for World 5, for there's a chance of getting no second lift and Mario keeping falling into the hole. In this video, SMBbot went lucky until 5-4, where it hilariously wasted 44% of the retry on Bowser.
After some manual upgrade, now it can solve every level of SMB with no problem. I'll keep it this way (but a bit smarter) and see how far it can go!
