By Coincidence the Delta III only launched 3 times. None of them with any great success. I talk about what it was, how it compared to the Delta II and Delta IV and why it had such a disasterous career.. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gAOLCLhiXY
The first launch to the moon as part of NASA's Artemis program is the tiny CAPSTONE spacecraft which will demonstrate navigation, maneuvering and communication in a Near Rectilinear Halo Orbit (NRHO) over the lunar poles. This is the planned orbit for the lunar gateway, the staging orbit for transfers to and from the lunar surface. This type of orbit has never been used before, Apollo , it was only really discovered in the 1970's and only in the last couple of decades has its utility been realised for spacecraft operations in cislunar space.
CAPSTONE is going to spend 6 months in this orbit demonstrating the technology and verifying that observers on the ground can accurately determine the orbit so that the correct station keeping motions can be made.

This is the third part of a 100 minute voyage to Duna and back. All 3 parts are 100 minutes in total, and recorded without editing or interruption. Finally I nail the landing and try to head home.

I covered Tharsis upon its release several months ago, it's a game where you manage a spacecraft and a series of disasters, stressed crew and occasional cannibalism on a jinxed voyage to Mars. The game mechanics mirror those of a more traditional board game, with problems being solved by rolling dice.
Since its release it's had a few updates including a number of pre-scripted challenge scenarios for your crew to survive.
But the real reason I wanted to look at this again is because it's part of the current Humble 'Survive This' Bundle along with Space Engineers and PlanetBase

While on vacation in Hawaii I did get to visit a lot of cool places, obviously I really wanted to see telescopes on the top of the mountain, and we will get to that, however a lot of the telescopes are operated from the much more hospitable environment near sea level.
Gemini Observatory is a pair of 8 Meter telescopes, in different hemispheres, able to cover the whole sky between them. I dropped by for a chat with the staff.

Yes the audio is bad, and you're a dum dum if you think I don't know this already and insist on pointing this out.

It's half good news, half bad news for ESA and Roscosmos as the Trace Gas Orbiter successfully placed itself in orbit around Mars while the Schiaparelli Lander has almost certainly been lost.

Space Planes are complicated beasts, so we need some serious testing. Before you launch a fully loaded spaceplane it's wise to test it when it's got almost no fuel so you can verify the stability for returning to the launch site.

Designing something that looks and flies like the Space Shuttle is very hard given the stock parts in KSP, many people make the mistake of not aligning engines through the center of mass, and not accommodating the change in location of the center of mass as fuel is burned. The real space shuttle used engines with a 20 degree gimbal range to account for this, and there are mods that support this. I'll take a look at the existing shuttle mods in another video.

For the next few days players can access all the flyable ships in the game, including the massive Starfarer. This represents a perfect time to fly around in some of the ships not in my hangar and talk about the CitizenCon event LA this weekend which has received mixed reactions from the community.

After all those missteps terraforming worlds I finally convert a planet to something more useful, in time to realise that I don't really need the tech any more as my species becomes more adaptable.
