Up to 49 million people in 46 countries are knocking at famine’s door, according to UN food agencies. Grains and oil seeds can’t get to countries most dependant on others for food, especially in Africa. World leaders are blaming Moscow for the hunger crisis, claiming it deliberately creates shortages. However, Western sanctions imposed on Black Sea ports and Russian ships are stopping Russia from exporting food and fertiliser. The documentary explores the real reasons behind a looming food crisis.

Every year, on July 18, Mandela Day celebrates and commemorate the legacy of South Africa's first Black president. Nelson Mandela brought an end to the segregationist policies of the country’s apartheid system.
Unfortunately, racial disparities in income, jobs and land ownership remain. White South Africans, who make up just 8 percent of the population, still own 72% of all rural land.
In 2019, the ruling African National Congress wanted to redress historical injustices through land reform. Their plans, however, sparked heated debate and wave of violence against white-owned farms.

Would you live in a house built out of soda cans to save the earth?
Such a project was proposed by Architect Michael Reynolds. He built his first ‘Earthship’ in 1972 from soda and beer cans, as well as rammed earth. Now, he advocates for “radical sustainability”. His Earthship designs have led to off-grid homes being constructed in a 634-acre subdivision near Taos, New Mexico, and an Earthship Academy has been established to teach ‘biotecture’ principles.
Michael had a vision of building self-sufficient homes that blend with the environment and generate sustainable power from recyclable materials.
Despite some controversy, including legal challenges related to building codes and performance issues, Reynolds’ Earthships continue to inspire those interested in sustainable living.

‘Right now, our power-hungry processes at the bakery result in an average monthly electricity bill of 9,500 euros. And with the new energy rules, we’ll have to pay 18-19,000 euros every month,’ says Gerd Distler who, like many other entrepreneurs, doubts whether his business can compete with prices. Regrettably, once-flourishing ventures are closing or are barely making ends meet.
As sanctions destroy the energy base necessary not only for the economy, but for ordinary people, how great is the crisis going to get? Whose interests do European governments promote?

After years being held captive by violent militias, drugged and trained to kill, child soldiers face a long road integrating back into society.
One survivor recalls a brutal incident in which the militants raped women, killed civilians with machetes, and burned down an entire village. During the civil war in the Central African Republic, thousands of lost children and orphans were recruited to fight for Christian and Muslim religious groups.
Following a ceasefire, humanitarian organizations began to demobilize child soldiers. These children are now being 'deprogrammed' in rehabilitation centers before being reunited with their families.

Bad foxhole, killed!’ recalls Alexander, or codename ‘Wingman’. In just a short period of time he became a Battalion Commander of Lugansk People’s Militia taking charge of 400 people. His battalion soldiers say that “Wingman” has earned their respect from day one. There aren't many commanders like him who would patrol the woods with their men and address each soldiers’ every need. The documentary tells about why Alexander made such a decision and what his everyday routine looks like.

‘Last month, several monks were killed in mortar attacks and in fires… It happens all the time’, says journalist Andrey Afanasyev. Orthodox Christianity in Ukraine is thousands of years old, and the faith was the major uniting factor. Any religious disagreements would deeply affect the society. This is why the Ukrainian nationalists chose to attack the religion to drive the Russian people away and remove every hint of Russian culture in Ukraine. Since 2014, Ukrainian nationalists mounted a crusade on the Orthodox churches and priests of the Moscow Patriarchy. This violates every possible law on freedom of conscience. How did it become part of Ukraine’s new reality?
