So they got me connected to the Senior Manager who had laryngitis. After completely wasting his time with talk of illness and children not to mention airports, I insisted on saving his voice and calling my bank myself to save him some trouble. They have been trying to call me back ever since. LOL
So I was playing around with an Arch-based Linux distro running live off a USB stick. Knowing a scammer couldn't do any damage at all, and would most likely get totally lost, I thought I'd give Norton scammers a call. They're voice volume was quite low, but it's intelligible and I had to jump through some hoops getting Anydesk installed. Once he got connected I think he recognized he was totally lost and hung up in spite of this old grandpa whom he thought was an easy mark.

WARNING: some ugly language at the end. So I called the number and gave him a series of random numbers, so he could "check his system" and of course he found my file. They switched handlers and the guy tried to blank out my screen (which I suppressed, so I could see what he was doing.) He got quite angry at the end, and then they blocked my calls. LOL

Thought I would try something different this time and use Windows 10 in a VM instead of my usual. This was an active phone call I received about McAfee expiring. He was anxious to poke around in my machine and that's always fun to watch.
Warning. This guy reverts to scatological insults even as I was quite nice to him.. He just could not understand that I was being perfectly honest about what was on my screen, not realizing that LogMeIn Rescue won't work in Linux.

Left a message and they called me back about 30 minutes later. Spoke with Trevon who said he lived in San Jose CA which he pronounced San joes. I got a lot of fun out of that. Kept up my usual silly chatter to keep him going. Told him the bank website was down, and so we couldn’t log in (I blocked the login screen so it wouldn’t even show up.) So he kindly gave me his direct number to call him on Monday. So have at him:
Got a cold call from a Mark Williams at Geek Squad who insisted someone had ordered something in my name (which he would never tell me). I thinki they were a bunch of newbies. They were stymied by the need for an admin password.
