On January 26th, I recorded most of the hearing on a bill (HB 1606) that would allow 18-20 year olds to drink alcohol with someone 21 and up. In addition to fear-mongering cops testifying against the bill, the video ends with an epic nearly 20 minute Q&A for me by the reps on the criminal justice committee. Also, don’t miss the excellent testimony by Keene representative Tim Robertson. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns23rgSX-GE

Have you wanted to visit Rich Paul but don't live in the Keene area? Now you can, from the comfort of your webcam via the new Securus system. The Cheshire jail aka "Keene Spiritual Retreat" has installed a brand new visitation system that is a big upgrade from what they had. Here's a quick video tour, which includes a brief statement from Rich Paul.
The old video system at the jail was awful. The resolution was terrible and the video feed suffered from random audio/video dropouts that were a real frustration to a conversation. The new Securus system looks better, runs smooth, and has an online scheduling system that makes visiting your loved one(s) a much easier process. Just sign up online for the time you want, show up and walk right into your visit! No more sitting in the lobby waiting in a line of people.
Not only that, but the new system allows online visits from your own webcam at home (or wherever), which is a huge benefit to relatives and friends not local to Keene. Yes, it seems a little pricey at first glance, but even someone visiting from Manchester will save hours of driving and not have to spend money on gas, so it's also a major upgrade.
vanwicklerKudos to jail superintendent (and Law Enforcement Against Prohibition speaker) Rick Van Wickler and corrections officer John Evans for getting this new system installed. The difference between the Manchester and Keene jails are night and day, and this is yet another reason to add to the list. In Keene you can visit seven-days-per-week, with available visitation times in the morning, afternoon, and evening. In Manchester's awful "Valley Street" jail, visitation is restricted to only one day per week, only a two-hour window, and only 30 minutes visitation time if you can actually show up during that short window. What a contrast!

As a business owner, few things are worse than having the attention of the people calling themselves “government”. Dorrie Masten, a local entrepreneur and property owner, knows this as well as anyone. As the owner of multiple properties and businesses including Keene Apartments and Pedraza’s Mexican Restaurant, Masten is no stranger to Keene’s ridiculous regulations. Unlike most business owners, she isn’t afraid to speak out publicly about how the Keene government gang has made her, her employees, and her customers’ lives more difficult.
The reason most business owners don’t speak out like Masten, is likely because they are understandably afraid they’ll be targeted for retaliation by the government people. According to a video posted to her facebook page yesterday, that’s exactly what’s happened to Masten since she publicly spoke against the parking kiosk that has been installed in front of her Mexican restaurant, Pedraza’s for about 18 months.

The trial of Nick Ryder, as seen on July 27, 2009. He was accused of disorderly conduct for standing in a courtroom lobby after a police officer ordered him and others out.
Highlights:
4:10 - Nick objects to the State's first witness being called, and the court admits to breaking the rules to allow him to testify.
12:10 - Man outside on a bullhorn causes an inturruption
17:15 - Audience member causes second disurbance and the judge moves the trial to another room because of it
46:35 - Nick objects to the first question the State asks Ian, and the objection is sustained

HB 1546, if it passes, will make the much-needed change to turn New Hampshire into a one-party consent state for recording conversations. It also would expressly protect the act of recording police and other government workers, so naturally, multiple government bureaucrats came to testify against it yesterday at the state house committee hearing.
What do they have to hide? One lady from the Attorney General’s office testified that bureaucrats should know they are being recorded. If someone is honest and on the up-and-up, then whether they are recorded or not should not change how they handle a conversation. It’s so obvious these sleazy bureaucrats don’t want to be held accountable for their actions. Don’t miss 29:27 in the video where Cop Block’s JP Freeman, Free Concord’s Garret Ean, and I all corner one of the lying bureaucrats in the hallway after his testimony!
Oh, by the way, only government bureaucrats testified against this bill. Everyone else testified in favor.

HB 178 would establish a commission to study how best to resolve right-to-know complaints. Liberty Lobbyist Darryl W Perry testified in favor.

In April of 2017 Darryl and I were traveling back to Keene from Taco Beyondo in Hillsborough and were waylaid by four armed, uniformed men. They surrounded the car and issued a written threat over what they call “misuse of plates” due to the Shire Society plate on the back of the car at the time.
This video contains the original pullover from April 2017, the full trial at Hillsborough District Court in New Hampshire in January 2018 and then the sentencing hearing from February 2018.
I was found guilty and sentenced to twelve hours of community service – but I had fun asking the cop some interesting questions in court. Enjoy the video:

This week, business owners, liberty activists, and a former city councilor all came out to speak against the recently (again) proposed parking rate & fee increase proposal from the city staff. Almost all speaking at the hearing encouraged the FOP committee members to reject it. After over an hour of speakers, the committee voted 5-0 to put the matter on “more time”, which means it’s coming back for another hearing in two weeks.
