Yo Brohams! One of the biggest concerns among some players, is "Will Hired Ops be Pay2Win?". Hopefully I can put your fears to rest, and make you feel better about supporting a great game!

Waddup Brohams, it's ya boy Colonel Twerkins is Hired Ops pay2win? Let's Rap a taste about it. In this video, I'm going to breakdown the Economics of Hired Ops.

For the last four days, I've been all over the Hops, Hired Ops for short, Steam Group, and waded through both good, and bad discussions. One topic that has always come up, is pay2win. Mostly from people who have not played this game, and are only making assumptions based on the old Contract Wars business model. Yes, it's a business, so don't get it twisted. Now that we are full steam ahead --- see what I did there? Yeah, so since we are full steam ahead into the Early Access of Hired Ops, we can see what the prior business model has afforded us, and those who are completely new to the franchise. To address the confusion, and utter hate going on, I decided to clarify the Economics of Hired Ops.

What is the currency?

The forms of payment are as follows:
Credits, or, CR for short.
Mod Points, or, Birds, as they are affectionately known.

So,

How Do I Get Guns and Mods?
First of all, you get CR, which are credits, but do NOT confuse them with Kreds, which is the currency of Kongregate.com, used for games that have microtransactions, which OG Contract Wars has---not had--the game is NOT dead. For each match you play, you receive EXP, which does one of two things:

1) It is converted INTO Credits
and
2) It levels you up, for which you receive Skill Points, or, SP for short.

More about SP later.

So now, guns are purchased with CR, and so are mods, with an exception. This is where Mod Points, or Birds come in. Once you purchase a gun, you have what are called, Weapon Tasks to perform. These can be anything from 10 Kills, to one Storm Kill in deathmatch mode. A storm kill, for those that don't know, is a 10 Kill Streak with out dying. Upon completion, you will receive the designated amount of Birds, which are then used for rare mods, and rare weapons. This is where we depart from Contract Wars, and fall into Hired Ops.

Before, you could just spend $20 bucks, get some GP, early unlock all the weapon tiers, and the meta levels for the mods. Shoot, even the credit weapons. You could just bypass the W-Task on those that way. What does this mean for Hired Ops? It means, you will have to play good, to get good stuff with every weapon available. There is an incentive to hone your skills on the battlefield now. At the moment, it seems all the weapons have the same contracts, which may just be an Early Access thing, and I have not earned enough birds to unlock th
