Did you know that taking the crate onto mission 2 in Double Dragon 2 causes the colour palette of the crate to change as the game isn’t expecting this weapon to go beyond mission 1. The same thing happens in the original game when you take the box beyond mission 2. #arcade #arcadegaming #arcadegames #DoubleDragon #retrogaming

Hi everyone its Paul Driscoll here AKA the Drisk. Now as a lot of our listeners at Retro Asylum were unable to attend the Play Blackpool show I thought when I was there that I would take the time to do an in-depth video of all the machines and event,I realise this is different from the more popular 5 min walk around but at least we are offering people something a little different.. I also tried to tell a little a bit about each game and my views as well which you may find interesting.
Hope you enjoy.

Arcade conversions on the ZX Spectrum were typically lacklustre affairs due principally to the modest power of the machine these games were being ported to. Flying Shark by Graftgold was an exception however as programmer Dominic Robinson managed with some amazing technical wizardry to create a smooth scrolling vertical shoot'em up that would even rival the C64 despite its lack of hardware support.
This video is an archive of a Twitch stream that was aired on 11th March 2018 on this channel: http://twitch.tv/theretroasylum
The machine used to stream the game was the ZX Spectrum + 128 that was refurbished by Mutant Caterpillar:
