Wearable technology will revolutionize our lives in the years to come. The current trend is to augment ordinary body-worn objects—e.g., watches, glasses, bracelets, and clothing—with advanced information and communication technologies (ICT) such as sensors, electronics, software, connectivity and power sources. These wearable devices can monitor and assist the user in the management of his/her daily life with applications that may range from activity tracking, sport and wellness, mobile games, environmental monitoring, up to eHealth.
The present Special Issue reports the recent advances in the multidisciplinary field of wearable technologies and the important gaps that still remain in order to obtain a massive diffusion.
In the frame of wearable technologies, this Special Issue of Technologies includes a total of 10 papers, including one review paper and nine research articles. Articles in this Special Issue address topics that include: wearable sensing and bio-sensing technologies, smart textiles, smart materials, wearable microsystems, low-power and embedded circuits for data acquisition and processing and data transmission.

Modern Chess Strategy
by Ludek Pachman
Chess ebook
Year: 1963
Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons Ltd.
Number of pages: 329
Content:
This book does not pretend to be a complete textbook of the conduct of a chess game; neither does it claim to present a new approach to chess strategy: my aim has merely been to produce a practical guide to the study of the middle-game. Everyone who desires to take up chess seriously is interested in the question: How can I recognize the characteristic features of a position and then lay my plans accordingly? To help answer this question is the task of this book.
We begin with an examination of the peculiarities of the individual pieces and pawns. Then the problem of the centre, material and space advantage on a particular section of the board, pawn formations, and some general problems of the chess struggle are discussed.
As a foundation for the book I have used a large number of games spanning many periods of chess, though naturally examples from recent tournaments predominate. It may be noticed that my own games appear with comparative frequency. This is not because I consider them to be the best examples of correct strategical play, but because every chess player understands his own games better than those of others and can therefore best explain the thought processes he experienced during the game.

I am a chess player, a novice a while ago who has been in your shoes. A stage where you don’t know how to improve your game, and some might not find any improvement at all even with all the theory they read and games they played. I am here to share the techniques I used to get to the next level with you so you don’t have to ponder your mind searching for the answer, but rather can just focus on the process.
People say it takes a decade of hard work to reach the master level, but I am here to prove it wrong. It’s you who decides how long it should take to get to the next level not anyone else. It’s not all about hard work; it's about confidence, preparation and smart work. I learned the game so fast people say I am a natural at chess, or my amazing memory helps me. I am not telling this to impress you, but to impress upon you that rapid chess improvement is possible. People just tend to make excuses like these for rapid growth and not believe that it’s just possible in general. I am here to just show you the necessary steps you need to take to get there...

STEAL THIS FILM
by The League Of Noble Peers, 2006
In 2006, a group of friends decided to make a film about filesharing that we would recognise.
There have been a few documentaries by 'old media' crews who don't understand the net and see peer-to-peer organisation as a threat to their livelihoods. They have no reason to represent the filesharing movement positively, and no capacity to represent it lucidly.
We wanted to make a film that would explore this huge popular movement in a way that excited us, engaged us, and most importantly, focussed on what we know to be the positive and optimistic vision many filesharers and artists (they are often one) have for the future of creativity.
Hopefully you'll enjoy the first part of STEAL THIS FILM ('Stockholm, Summer 2006'). It achieves some, but by no means all, of our goals. To continue we need your help. This film is free for you to share, watch on your DVD player or on your iPod, or show in cinemas. But if you like the work we've done and want us to carry on, use our donate link to send us a couple of dollars or euros. We will start making the second part straight away, and release it on www.stealthisfilm.com and on major BitTorrent trackers, when it's done.
Each part, we estimate, will take about 2 months to complete. The plan for the second part is on this wiki. Feel free to add suggestions.

Winning With the Bongcloud: A Complete Repertoire for White
Andrew Fabbro
Chess ebook
Year: 2010
Number of pages: 36
Language: inglés
Desde: 19/05/2015
Size: 321 KB
Content:
The Bongcloud (also known as the Boungcloud, or Bongwolke in German) is the type of rich opening that promises something for everyone. For the positionalist, White’s ambitious plan promises a game full of long-range novelties. For the tactician, some of the sharper gambit lines will leave him calculating to his heart’s content. For the endgame specialist, the complete flexibility in pawn structure leaves everything on the table. For the openings mad scientist, there is a wealth of unexplored passageways to delve. And for the casual club player, there is a pleasant lack of established theory which means he’s more likely to surprise his opponent than to be surprised by Ke2!
In recent years, the Bongcloud has seen a resurgence, as avant-garde Internet players, tired of shop-worn Sicilians, Ruys, and QGDs have taken up the ancient Bongcloud as a novel approach. It is an especially important opening in anti-computer play, as no software yet written contains an adequate book against the Bongcloud. While various specialists have floated pet “anti-Bongcloud” openings, there has been no published refutation of this immensely popular opening and it remains a time-tested attack.
Interface Circuits for Microsensor Integrated Systems.
by Giuseppe Ferri , Vincenzo Stornelli (Eds.)
ed.MDPI, 2018.
Content:
Recent advances in sensing technologies, especially those for Microsensor Integrated Systems, have led to several new commercial applications. Among these, low voltage and low power circuit architectures have gained growing attention, being suitable for portable long battery life devices. The aim is to improve the performances of actual interface circuits and systems, both in terms of voltage mode and current mode, in order to overcome the potential problems due to technology scaling and different technology integrations. Related problems, especially those concerning parasitics, lead to a severe interface design attention, especially concerning the analog front-end and novel and smart architecture must be explored and tested, both at simulation and prototype level. Moreover, the growing demand for autonomous systems gets even harder the interface design due to the need of energy-aware cost-effective circuit interfaces integrating, where possible, energy harvesting solutions. The objective of this Special Issue is to explore the potential solutions to overcome actual limitations in sensor interface circuits and systems, especially those for low voltage and low power Microsensor Integrated Systems. The present Special Issue aims to present and highlight the advances and the latest novel and emergent results on this topic, showing best practices, implementations and applications.
The Guest Editors invite to submit original research contributions dealing with sensor interfacing related to this specific topic. Additionally, application oriented and review papers are encouraged.
