I disagree. I think it's possible, but unless there's no other choice, selfless actions should be sustainable. Imagine that you neglect your basic needs in order to help others. In the short term, you might help a lot, but over the long haul, you might actually limit the good you could have done because you won't be able to keep up the pace. This is why the airlines instruct you to take care of your needs before those around you if the oxygen masks drop. Without care for yourself, you're actually endangering both yourself and the one you're trying to help. There are situations where this can't be helped, but there's no honor in sacrificing yourself when you could build a team and accomplish the same goal. Broadly speaking, they're different based on who they're focussed on. A spam account is solely focussed on the spammer. He wonders how he can get more and more money out of you for himself. A bacon account is a bit of a hybrid. Usually it's a small-business person who just doesn't quite understand social media and is targeting the wrong people. It might be an account where it provides some value, but it's either mostly advertising or split 50/50. Steak accounts are all about giving. The steak tweep tries to figure out ways to help with only an occasional ask.
