The SAR is the U.S. civilian version of the weapon that replaced the M16/M4 in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in 2003. It takes standard AR-15 magazines and has a 16.5" barrel, but is only 26.125" in overall length! This is not some sort of licensed copy, but an actual semi-auto version of the TAR-21 made by Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) here in the U.S. We measure the trigger pull, test a few different types of magazines (not show on video, but the Thermold worked fine and even locked the bolt back reliably, which it does not do on most AR's), talk about how to manipulate the rifle, note a comment from some ex-IDF guys, shoot some .223 and some 5.56, and make a note about brass ejection. Plus do a little tabletop and unboxing and talk about where the $1,999 MSRP comes from. Besides the bonuses that you get with the rifle (that cleaning kit, the QD swivels, the built-in BUIS with tritium dot, the magazine, the VERY detailed and awesome owner's manual, etc), you also get a truly military grade firearm that is assembled and finished to top notch specs. Attention to detail is very high, and quality is excellent. The barrel, for instance, is cold hammer forged, chrome lined, 1:7 twist, 5.56 chambered, made in Israel... no corners cut on the TAVOR.
