In the UK the BBC Micro, supported by the British government, backed the Computer Literacy project. It was designed to introduce children to computing and the BBC decided to support a computer that would be sold to schools, that ended up being the Acorn BBC Micro.
France had the same idea and chose Thomson's MO5, let's take a look at it.

Sorry about the sound, we had some issues with the microphone. By which we mean we set it up wrong and didn't notice until it was too late.

When GamePark split after releasing the GP32 one half of the company went on to produce a wannabe PSP competitor, but the other decided to make a cheaper iterative improvement over the original. They created the GP2X, a fantastically successful open source homebrew and emulation machine.
GP2X software is still available here https://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/gp2x.cgi

A couple of friends asked about soldering as a beginner so we made this video. We intended for it to be a short tutorial but it ended up being a fairly long video.
We go into the basics on the tools you need and then some tips on desoldering and soldering. We also go into the basics of capacitors.
By no means are we experts at this but we have a lot of success repairing retro equipment and we strongly recommend learning basic soldering skills if you collect retro electronics.
We obviously accept no blame for any injuries to you or anything you own or love, always take care and concentrate on what you're doing.
