[250] Mosler: The Saudis are still the swing producer. They are engineering the oil price crash
This morning, the US Labor Department reported an unexpectedly large 321,000 increase in nonfarm payrolls in November. This marks a record 50th straight months of payroll gains in the United States. Importantly, not only were nonfarm payrolls up 321,000 but revisions to the previous two months of data were plus 44,000 jobs - meaning this report showed 365,000 jobs being added to the US economy. Edward weighs in.

Then, Edward sits down with Warren Mosler – president of Valance Inc. In light of the jobs report, Warren gives us his take on what’s going on with wages in the US and if policymakers believe a robust economic recovery is possible without real wage growth. Warren also weighs in on the important subject of oil. He sees the Saudis acting as the swing producer of oil, using spread pricing to engineer a market crash that hurts producers of crude with high costs and too much debt.

After the break is our Defining Moments segment, including commentary from Peter Joseph, Cullen Roche, David Henderson, David Beckworth, and Peter Schiff on economic inequity, millennials, the minimum wage, basic income, Japan’s sales tax, and gold.

And in The Big Deal, Edward and Bianca Facchinei discuss all of the economic woes troubling the millennial generation. Take a look!
