American epic biographical war film about U.S. General George S. Patton during World War II. Staring George C. Scott as Patton and Karl Malden as General Omar Bradley, and was directed by Franklin J. Schaffner from a script by Francis Ford Coppola and Edmund H. North, who based their screenplay on Patton: Ordeal and Triumph by Ladislas Farago and Bradley's memoir, A Soldier's Story. Patton won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.
This is a 14 part mini-series broadcast in 1978 with an all-star cast from the period which tells the story of Centennial, Colorado, over a period of two centuries. Over that time dozens of people come to the area for many reasons: money, freedom, or crime. -- Episode 1, part 1 & 2, begins in the 1700s with a French-Canadian trapper who travels to the Rockies where he forms friendships and has death-defying adventures while trading with various Indian tribes.
