Personal PAC, Planned Parenthood, and their allies in the legislature, have introduced a repeal of our Illinois Parental Notification of Abortion Act (PNA).
Parental Notification is a deterrent to abortion. Since the Illinois PNA went into effect, it has been responsible for a 57% decrease in teenage abortions. Thousands of lives have been saved. That said, lives saved means, the Illinois abortion industry has lost millions of dollars in revenue.
Keeping the PNA in place is vital. It’s not only about saving unborn children; it is protecting our daughters from being the victims of human sex-trafficking and or sexual predators. Please speak out against the effort to repeal this common sense law!

State lawmakers are pushing the legalization of “super weed.” The 500-plus page bill (SB 7) that was introduced earlier this month in Springfield should greatly alarm parents and grandparents:
-No cap on THC levels. This is the substance that gets users intoxicated. The marijuana of the 1960s and 1970s only contained 1-3 mg of THC. Today, the levels are 20 mg or more. The Dutch government walked back their marijuana policy and now considers cannabis with 15 percent THC hard drugs and illegal.
-High potency marijuana use is linked to increases in addiction, psychosis, schizophrenia and violence.
-Home Grows. SB 7 allows adults to grow up to 5 marijuana plants in their home(s). What good is a community opt-out when neighbors are legally permitted to grow it? Moreover, who wants to live near pot cultivation centers?
-Marijuana surplus. Cultivating excessive amounts of marijuana is not hypothetical. Conservatively, five plants could produce ten pounds of marijuana per year. That is more than 10,000 joints a year. No one can use that much marijuana. Where will the surplus go?
There are many other reasons to oppose this policy. In short, legalization is just not worth the social costs to our families and communities.
PLEASE CALL your lawmakers to make sure they know that many people oppose this disastrous policy. The Illinois Capitol switchboard number is (217) 782-2000.

At the Illinois Family Institute’s 2016 Worldview Conference, theologian Dr. Wayne Grudem discussed the book he co-wrote with economist Dr. Barry Asmus titled The Poverty of Nations: A Sustainable Solution, which examines the reasons for poverty and the reasons for prosperity.
Dr. Grudem shared that “Wealth and poverty are primarily determined by policies and factors that affect whole nations.” In order to reduce poverty and increase prosperity, gross national product and per capita income must be raised. The question is how to achieve those goals.
Dr. Grudem critiqued the commonly recommended solutions for eliminating poverty, including
foreign aid, debt forgiveness, discovering natural resources, transferring goods from one person to another, printing money, attributing poverty to outside factors, and purchasing Fair Trade products.
Dr. Grudem also looks to the Bible for guidance on how countries can reduce levels of poverty, and how Christians should respond to urgent needs in impoverished countries.

The bill to legalize marijuana will pump as much THC as possible into our communities. "The beating heart of this bill, the cancer at its core, is the marijuana industry." They want to make as much money as they possibly can, off of our state - at the expense of our kids.
