Fox Host Forced To Remind Republican Party How Bad The Economy Was Under Trump
Fox News host Neil Cavuto was forced to push back on his Republican guest's views during a recent segment where the guest claimed that the economy was much better under Donald Trump. Cavuto reminded her that she'd have to pick her dates more carefully, because four years ago we were "knee deep" in COVID and the economy ground to a halt, Cavuto explained. But the poor economic performance goes back long before COVID during the Trump years, and that's what even Cavuto seemed to forget. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

During a recent segment on Fox News host, Neil Cavuto was forced to remind his Republican guest that the economy really was not that good under Donald Trump. Now, before I read you what happened in this exchange here, let me preface this by saying, you know, we got the jobs numbers, we got the inflation numbers. Everything is getting better on paper at least, right? I mean, I understand. Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to downplay the fact that there are millions of people in this country that are struggling to make ends meet, living paycheck to paycheck, foregoing their prescriptions because they cannot afford them. The economy is not great for millions of Americans. It's not even good. But on paper, the numbers coming in show that things are getting better than they were Now, having said that, Neil Cavuto prevent, uh, presents that, and he says, we bounced back from our worst levels today on a better than expected wholesale inflation report.

Not that much better, but inflation's still a big worry. I'm sure if you're Donald Trump or Republicans, you're seizing on, that is the issue that will get you back in the White House. What do you think he asked Republican fundraiser, Nicole, Nick, per like, why are you even bringing on a Republican fundraiser to talk about the issues? Shouldn't you talk about political analysts? Shouldn't you be talking to an economist? Not somebody that raises money for the Republican party Like that alone is a big problem. But anyway, Ms. Nick Perr responded, quote, it is the issue. Uh, a lot of people are remembering how better off they were under the Trump administration. They had more money in their bank, they had 3% mortgages. They're remembering this and they're remembering where they were. And I, I think this is going to help Donald Trump. And I think he is playing on the flat on the fact that they were better off under his administration than they are right now, even though Biden is saying it's better.

And at that point, Cavuto had to quickly jump in and he said, all right, we can go back and forth on whether people are better off. We were knee deep in the middle of COVID-19. I'm not blaming that on the president, but the economy ground to a halt. You, you have to pick and choose your dates and times. So Cavuto, you know, trying to run defense there he is like, Hey, listen, I mean, four years ago things were bad, so, so maybe pick a different date. Like, are you better off than you were six years ago, or maybe even five years ago? But don't say four years ago. 'cause everybody was pretty bad right? Now, here's the thing, and I know Cavuto knows this because I know he is a smart guy, but before long, long, long before we had COVID-19, before anybody knew what that word meant before, most people understood the meaning of the word pandemic. Before anybody knew what PPE was, months before that, we had economic reports. And I know, 'cause I

Sat right here on Ring of Fire talking about 'em with economists warning us that we were headed towards a recession in six to 12 months. They said we would hit a recession because of Trump's policies, because of the trade wars, because of the tax cuts, because of his horrible economic policies, because of the struggles of the average American families, because of the fact that they couldn't afford an emergency totaling five or $600, it would wipe them out.
