Today we’re looking at a mic from a normally budget company, the Behringer B-2 Pro. This is one of Behringer’s higher end microphones, and it is pretty decent sounding for music. It has multiple polar patterns (cardioid, omni, figure-8), and a large treble and air boost that will provide you a lot clarity, and can make your vocals sound a bit breathier than normal.

Today we’re looking at one of the best portable recorders/interfaces that I’ve come across. This is a fully featured device with great A/D and D/A conversion (up to 24-bit 192kHz) , 8 hours of battery life, low noise preamps, a small form factor and a great build quality.

Today I review the Behringer Bigfoot multi pattern USB condenser microphone. This is a copy of the original blue yeti with the same controls and layout, just in a prettier body. The mic functions and sounds fine, however, I think the troll stuff detracts from it, and I would not recommend it. I would like to see Behringer’s engineering team to make original audio gear as opposed to making these clones.

Today we look at the Shure Beta 58a, a super-cardioid variant of the classic Shure SM58. This microphone has a very similar tone with a little bit more mids, a bit of added air up top, and less muddiness down below. All around this is a stellar option for stage vocals if you’re looking for a subtle upgrade from the SM58.

Today we’re looking at the Logitech Pro X Gaming Headset with Blue Vo!ce. This thing is far from a professional gaming headset. In my opinion the headphones sound is subpar, lacking any kind of life in the upper frequencies, and the low end lacking bass, and if you boost the bass in the software, it becomes loose and muddy. The microphone is a typical headset microphone which sounds terrible, but they add processing to try to fix it with the Blue Voice software.

I test out the SF-930, NW-700, BM-800, NW-1500, & the SM-58 to see if we can record them on your iphone. I don't recommend this as a permanent solution, but it may work as a temporary recording option. Link to adapter blow.

Today we’re looking at a the cheapest mic in Blue’s SL series, the Blue Spark SL. This microphone is their “entry level” XLR condenser, and I would describe it as fine. There is nothing special or unique about the tone, but it does have a rather hot output signal. I also have a couple concerns about Blue’s QA as my mic’s high pass switch was busted.
