Calls from campaigners are getting louder for a crime of Ecocide. An international law like the one against genocide that would criminalise the mass damage and destruction of ecosystems. Sounds like it must be a good thing. But would it be? Let’s have a look.

Dominic Cummings, one of the top media hate figures of the last few years, is out of the government. Even his enemies recognised him as an intellectual driving force that wanted to confront the elites, tear down bloated and ineffective bureaucracies and put in place something that was more fit for purpose. What was it all really about? And regardless of whether you love him or loathe him, is it actually good or bad that he’s now out of the picture?Let’s discuss.

It seems we have a problem. John Ioannidis said: “There is increasing concern that in modern research, false findings may be the majority or even the vast majority of published research claims.”
Over 70% of researchers have tried and failed to reproduce another scientist’s experiments. 52% agreed that there is a replication crisis.
We live in a world right now where a lot of people say our public policy should “follow the science” in some very important areas – with big consequences. So it does matter that the science should be robust. How big is the problem? What causes it? And how can it be – and indeed is it being – addressed?

Russia invades Ukraine. We talk about why it happened, why the response by the West will make zero difference to what happens next, and whether this is the first concrete shift towards a new world order, as some people believe.

In the UK, we are now at the end of the big Easter period of action for Extinction Rebellion. It hit the headlines big time, got everybody talking.
So was I right or wrong in my previous video, where I said that their approach was hurting, not helping?
More importantly, what was the rather surprising element I learned since that video that most of the general public don't know, and even a good portion of those that took part in the protests probably don't either?
Is Extinction Rebellion the best champion on climate change that we have? Or were they saved by the late appearance by Greta Thunberg? And what did their founder tell the former Russia Today TV channel that foreshadowed a lot of what was to follow?

In this wide-ranging Q&A video, we go through various different tricky vaccine dilemma questions, including should people who have had Covid but not vaccinated nevertheless be included on vaccine passports, should children be vaccinated, and much more. Plus some of the grey areas on climate change, and a few totally left-field questions just to keep me on my toes!

A news round-up for a busy week! I talk about the release of the report of the Committee on Climate Change, which challenges government to commit to net zero carbon emission targets by 2050.
I also talk about how this was received by Extinction Rebellion (and George Monbiot) who were under the impression they'd gotten Parliament to sign up to their revolutionary vision just the day before.
I talk about the apparent extinction of XR's business initiative, and the hilarious demands made upon potentially supportive business leaders by XR leading light, Jem Bendell.

In this week’s round-up of the news President Trump announces the next formal step to indicate that the US is definitely pulling out of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change – an announcement with less immediate importance than you might think.
A new UK study says that a move to 100% organic farming would lead to an increase in greenhouse gas emissions.
And the shockwaves continue to echo after the disastrous conclusion to Extinction Rebellion’s latest campaign in London.

Joe Biden promises that he can heal America, but there are good reasons to think that he’s wrong. A vaccine is on the way that has a 90% effectiveness against Covid-19. And climate scientists stand up against end-of-the-world doomerism even as President Trump gives them a final kick on his way out of the door.

In the net zero by 2050 plan by the UK’s committee on climate change, it calls for a modest expansion of nuclear energy.
And Bill Gates believes that the next generation of nuclear could be many times better than what has gone before.
But some of the radical campaigners who like to suggest we could get zero carbon in just six years say that we should do that without nuclear.
Is nuclear power a helpful part of the solution to climate change?
Or is it a dangerous and expensive white elephant?
Let’s discuss.
