‘River of Time’ is a spoken word performance piece by Andy Messer for the Tinsley Time and Travel Project.
As ‘The Don’, (the current incarnation of an Iron Age mother goddess and spirit of the river, ‘Danu’), Andy literally meanders through 4,500 years of human occupation in Tinsley.
Throughout this narrative, archaeological evidence and historical research is cleverly interspersed with an ancient character-driven perspective on Tinsley and the people who have called this river’s valley home.

Themes of transport, travel and change have shaped Tinsley since pre-history, and continue to do so today. By creating community events, heritage activities and learning opportunities we are sharing Tinsley’s heritage.
