James B. Anderson is a professor at the University of Vermont specializing in population genetics and the evolution of fungi. He is the Seminar Speaker for the 2013 Endowed Taylor-White Lecture in the Department of Plant & Microbial Biology at UC Berkeley (http://pmb.berkeley.edu).
The Anderson Lab is interested in the processes that shape the structure of fungal populations including sexual and somatic recognition, reproduction, mutation and recombination. To investigate the impact of these natural processes in populations, the lab's research uses the tools of molecular genetics, genomics, and evolutionary biology.
