Welcome to Colombia

What should you bring to Colombia? In this video I’ll tell you some travel essentials for your trip to Colombia.
If you live in a country different than Colombia and want to know this beautiful country, I have some tips that can help you when traveling Colombia, since many things may be different from your own country.
For example, electricity. It is necessary to bring a plug adapter because the majority of plugs in the electronic devices of Colombia is different from the plugs in Europe. Although, the voltage in Colombia is 110 volts. Also, some towns in Colombia do not have electricity, so it is good to take a flashlight with you, which will also be necessary in activities such as bird watching at night.
The weather. Due to the geography of Colombia there are several floors and climatic variations. You have to be prepared for rain, sun, cold and so on. For this reason, I recommend that you bring a hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from sunlight on very sunny days; rubber boots to keep your feet dry after and during storms, which you can find in almost any region of Colombia; and a poncho for the rainiest days. It is also necessary that you bring sunglasses with you, not only to protect your eyes from sunlight, but also to protect them in windy destinations, such as La Guajira’s desert.
You could also bring a Swiss army knife, which can help you get out of trouble in the most adventurous destinations of Colombia. You also need mosquito repellent in several regions of Colombia, such as the Pacific, the Caribbean and the Colombian Llanos. In Colombia you will find a large number of rivers, lakes, hot springs and beaches for which it will be very appropriate to have your swimsuit with you.
And finally, your camera. Do not forget to bring it, even if it is your cell phone, so you can take home incredible memories of your trip to Colombia.
I hope these tips have been useful for you.
