[tweet "How do you choose between YouTube and podcasting? Click here for some things to consider:"]
-Cost--When you consider how much it costs to upload and maintain files, YouTube is the clear winner with a cost of $0. -Audio--If your content is audio only, you might consider putting up a still graphic and uploading that with the audio to YouTube, but you'll find that people only watch for a short amount of time before they drop off and doing this consistently trains them to ignore your channel, so if you ever do real video, they won't watch it. If you're only doing audio, do a podcast. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHktlJfWfH8

If you've got an Apple Silicon Mac (M1, M2, etc) and you need more outputs to use with ProPresenter 7, what would you use?
One or two more (if you have enough TBT3 ports for two), I'd use the Ultrastudio 3g monitor adapter for each: https://amzn.to/3exdfsx. For 3-4 more, I'd use a Decklink Duo 2: https://amzn.to/3VwBmIm. For 5-8, the Decklink Quad 2: https://amzn.to/3skFgH3. Either of the last two would need a Thunderbolt 3 enclosure: https://amzn.to/3eFwZKn or https://amzn.to/3s45tcs.
Avoid using an AppleTV, docks, or usb-adapters because they're neither supported, nor reliable enough.

On today’s tech help for churches, using a teleprompter for a video podcast
I've talked before about outlining your show notes to prepare for your podcasts, but there is another way that is arguably much better. You could use a teleprompter. A teleprompter shows you a mirrored image that reflects off of a piece of glass in front of your camera's lens. So, you’re reading while looking directly at the audience.
Now, maybe you won’t use a teleprompter during church, but that doesn’t mean you wouldn’t want to use one for video podcasts and other videos that you church might put out.
Imagine that your pastor does a weekly podcast where he shares some of his thoughts on what he’s studying and other ministry-related topics. Instead of following an outline or winging it, he could have a script that he follows which is guaranteed to hit the points he wants to hit.
Perhaps you do an announcement video. Instead of having the host try and memorize key points, use a teleprompter to make sure she gets it right the first time, every time. Okay, maybe not the first time, but with fewer takes and no memorization.

It's New Tutorial Tuesday. Have you ever needed to do this?
Imagine that you've currently got announcement slides looping in your atrium/lobby/narthex/whatever you call it. You want to take it up a notch and turn that into digital signage with the time and other information. How do you do it? Click above to watch my latest tutorial and find out.

Here are this week's questions:
LG on Church Tech on g+
Hey techies/brothers , I'm converting a room down the hall from our sanctuary into a meet and greet /cry room, and I'd like your ideas on live streaming our church service to it. I have a new HD TV on the wall, and in the nursery down the hall.
What is the most economical yet best way to do this? We've just upgraded our cable Internet to 50mb up 10mb down, so it should be sufficient. Thanks ahead of time!
