“It is surprising that the command does not support the gender policy of the Ukrainian armed forces. This picture directly violates both the departmental action plan on gender issues in the defense sector and the national plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325. Also, gender equality in the security and defense forces is one of the requirements for Ukraine to join NATO,” Ukrainian girls who serve in the AFU say irritably.
But this is also an indicator: there are so many women in the Ukrainian troops that they are ready to vigorously defend their rights and accuse men of sexism.
Apparently, gender policy has indeed taken an important place in the AFU, allocating a large amount of money for this. Thus, recently the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov introduced a new position “officers of the gender equality department.”
