In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the Five Elements - Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water - have respective correlations with our body's organs. Similarly, the colors and properties of our everyday foods also have specific pathways, leading to different organs, which brings about certain benefits. For instance, black foods often correspond with the Kidney meridian. Consuming black foods such as black beans or black sesame seeds, can help nourish the kidneys, support the adrenal glands, and enrich the hair. Just as the depth of black signifies strength, these foods carry potent enriching energy that is beneficial for our kidneys. On the other hand, green foods are typically associated with the Liver meridian. Intake of foods like spinach, kale, and green apples can assist in the smooth flow of liver Qi, improve eyesight, and alleviate emotional strain. Echoing the embodied energy of growth and renewal in the green color, they provide the necessary nutrients for our liver health. Understanding the links between the colors of foods, the Five Elements, and our body's organs is an invaluable tool in maintaining and improving our overall health. This knowledge allows us to incorporate the right foods into our daily diet, fostering better health and well-being effortlessly.

Concerns often arise over the not-so-obvious effects of acupuncture and the lingering pain sensation some people experience post-treatment, could this be due to an imbalance in the rising and falling (ShengJiang) in one's body? Acupuncture, an ancient Chinese therapeutic approach, works on the core concept of balancing Yin (shadow/cool) and Yang (light/warm) within the body. This balance is achieved by stimulating specific points, thus promoting the flow of "Qi" or vital energy. However, if the results of acupuncture are not immediately evident or if there's residual discomfort, it doesn't necessarily indicate that the treatment was unsuccessful. It may be related to the individual body's process of re-adjusting the Yin and Yang, particularly the rising and falling aspects. Rising and falling are critical as they support the flow of body energy, maintain body temperature, and facilitate functional activities. An imbalance in this process might lead to less visible improvement right after acupuncture and result in some residual pain.
