The Cleveland Police Dept. has asked Ohio Governor John Kasich for an executive order to suspend the right of citizens to open carry weapons in Cuyahoga County during the time of the Republican National Convention. The request came within hours of an apparent police ambush in Baton Rouge, Louisiana that left 3 police officers dead, and 3 others injured. [insert] I’m still reporting from Washington. Good day.

Glenn Beck attacked Donald Trump 2 days ago at a Ted Cruz rally in South Carolina:
“Donald Trump is very dangerous in my opinion.”
“… too many people are looking at Trump and believing that man has ever opened a Bible … that’s the biggest crock of [blank] I’ve ever heard.”
Hmmmm, that’s not the way I remember you thinking about Donald Trump a couple of years ago, Mr. Beck – before you got thrown off of Fox.
But before we move on, notice how huge this Ted Cruz crowd is – like maybe 100.
For Trump, it’s a bad night if he only draws 10,000.
[insert stadiums]
You know, Mr. Beck, maybe you’ve been off big-time TV so long that you forgot that we can record stuff.
So, in the immortal words of Warner Wolf, “let’s go to the video tape.”

So it’s August and do you know what that means – according to a little known decree from President Obama, August is missing emails month. Yes sir, if you have to lose your emails August is the month you can do it.
Why? Because August is the month that highly-paid datacenter experts are at the beach and so news organizations only get their voicemail when they try to dig up the truth.
It’s bizarre –exactly one year ago I did this same story – but with Lois Lerner’s missing IRS emails in Minute Memo #51.
Tonight FoxNews was the first to interview a spokesman for Platte River Networks – the folks responsible for Clinton’s private server setup.
The newly-employed damage control spokesman denied that the Clinton server wasn’t in the bathroom at Platte River. He says that was where the server that held company billing, receipts, etc. was kept. And I believe him because he says the Clinton server was seized by the FBI out of a typical data center in New Jersey, where Platte River had set it up.
[insert]
So there you have it; having the server in question sit in a conventional data center is a horrible development for team Clinton.
Why? Because EVERY datacenter on the planet in absolutely responsible to back up all the data with which they are entrusted to the gold standard of data protection – backup tapes.
Court tech4tomorrow
Every day a bonded driver from Iron Mountain – or similar tape backup storage firm – comes to collect the latest backup tapes for replication and guaranteed secure long-term storage.
It is now safe to conclude that EVERYTHING that was on Hillary’s server has many existing backups on tape at Iron Mountain.

Yesterday, President Trump picked up a dangerous implement called a telephone and called the King of Saudi Arabia. In less than one day the two leaders worked out a deal that we assume will open that existing refugee camp immediately.

Despite all the negative dustup involving Donald Trump in the last week, his poll numbers in Iowa have blown by Wisconsin governor Scott Walker.
Walker has been laying the groundwork in Iowa for months in preparation for the Feb. 1, 2016 Iowa Caucus. Trump has been attacked by one newspaper in Iowa. Despite that, Trump now leads Walker by a 17% to 12% margin.
The poll, conducted by Suffolk University, was taken of 500 likely Republican caucus-goers in Iowa. It was conducted Friday through Monday, right at the peak of the Trump/FoxNews dustup.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán says he expects at least 3 other European nations, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovakia to follow Hungary’s October referendum to reject the EU’s migrant quotas.
“If the Hungarian referendum in October proves to be successful, that might lead to a tsunami of referendums across Europe and will crack the EU even more,” said Orbán.
On Oct. 2, as many as 5 million Hungarians are expected to vote on the question:
“Do you want the European Union to be entitled to prescribe the mandatory settlement of non-Hungarian citizens in Hungary without the consent of parliament?”
Orbán’s political party, Fidesz considers the referendum to be a
“… matter of life and death as the future of Hungary is at stake.”
Hungarian politicians have come to a consensus that the EU bureaucrats in Brussels have overstepped their mandate and have little respect for the sovereignty of its member nations and the will of their people.
Orbán believes the entire EU project is at a crossroads. It either needs a drastic power shift back to the people, or its member nations will fall like dominos.

You’ve heard Donald Trump say that America never wins any more. Well, that has been true generally, over the past 7 years. But yesterday was an exception.
Elon Musk, the co-founder of Paypal and CEO of both SpaceX and electric car maker, Tesla Motors, is only 44 years old, but with a net worth of over 13 billion dollars, he is already the 75th wealthiest American.
Incidentally, Elon Musk is also the force behind the Hyperloop train-in-a-tube concept. This first transonic train will run between run from Vienna, Austria, to Budapest, Hungary at speeds of 758 miles per hour. For more info, see Still Report #696.
Elon Musk’s vision for SpaceX has always been to build reusable launch vehicles to fill the gap created when President Obama shut down NASA’s manned spaceflight program 6 years ago. Since then, the United States has had be mostly depend on Russian-made launch vehicles for its heavy-lift space needs.
In order to make the SpaceX business model commercially viable, Musk needed to be able to launch from the existing Florida launch facilities at Cape Canaveral. Why, because you can’t launch heavy-lift vehicles over populated areas, and so launches must be from a coastline, out over the ocean.
The advantage Cape Canaveral has over the California launch facility at Vandenberg Air Force Base is that at the Cape you can launch to the East and since the Earth rotates towards the east, launches get about a 1,000 mile-per-hour speed boost into orbit.
But in order to reuse the largest and most expensive part of the launch vehicle, the 9-engined first stage must be able to land on the pitching deck of an autonomous ocean-going barge ship, oddly named, “Of Course I Still Love You”.
This robo-barge has a landing deck that is only 170 wide by 300 feet long. However, SpaceX’s Falcon-9 launch vehicle lands on legs that stand 60 feet apart, so there is not much room for error.
Before launch, the robo-barge is stationed 150 miles downrange. It is said to be capable of precision positioning within 3 meters, even under storm conditions.
Yesterday afternoon the sea was very rough with high altitude crosswinds of 50 mph and low altitude winds of 25 mph.
SpaceX has tried this landing 4 times in the past; all have ended in failure.
Yesterday afternoon, the Falcon 9 lifted off at 4:43 pm Eastern time.
[insert countdown]
Seven minutes later, after sending its Dragon-capsule payload successfully towards the International Space Station (the ISS), the first stage fired its retro-rockets to return to earth.
Now we’ll pick up with the live video coverage provided by the SpaceX team. The video window on the right is the second stage engine accelerating the Dragon capsule towards the ISS.
[insert]
Eventually, the robo-barge will automatically refuel the first stage, and then serve as a launch platform as the first stage takes off and automatically returns itself to the Florida launch facility.

The Trump/Pence team has had a busy week 2 of their administration.
President Trump is showing no signs of slowing down. He is working hard moving full speed ahead to Make America Great Again and drain the Washington, D.C. swamp.
This week, there were four major issues that President Trump focused on. The first was making the United States more secure by improving the immigrant screening process. President Trump imposed a temporary travel ban on 7 countries known for training, harboring, and exporting terrorism.

One month after her husband’s death, Carryn Owens was one of President Trump’s guests in the House gallery for his address to Congress earlier this week.
Most Democrats refused to applaud the emotionally distraught woman as the rest of the nation paid their respects to not only her, but her husband.
Then, even worse, Democrats attacked her as being a puppet. Michael Moore and Bill Maher accused Trump of using her as a “prop”.
Let’s take a look:

A promising new treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease may revolutionize the way doctors deal with the most expensive disease in America.
Alzheimer’s disease – the most common form of dementia - afflicts 50 million worldwide. Though few people realize it, dementia is now more expensive than heart disease and cancer combined.
It afflicts one in 8 Americans over the age of 60 today, and with the aging of the Baby Boomer generation, costs to Medicare are expected to quadruple by 2050.
The new treatment is called “focused therapeutic ultrasound. If the new research holds up in human trials, it may provide a relatively inexpensive, painless and drug-free alternative that not just halts the spread of the disease, but actually restores memory loss.
The treatment beams high-frequency sound waves into brain tissue and jiggles open clogged pathways that block vital nutrients from reaching memory tissue.
According to researchers at Australia’s Queensland Brain Institute, the new ultrasound treatment has fully restored memory function to 75% of mice it has been tested on, with zero damage to the surrounding brain tissue.
According to Prof. Jürgen Götz, a co-author of the study:
"We’re extremely excited by this innovation of treating Alzheimer’s without using drug therapeutics. The word ‘breakthrough’ is often misused, but in this case I think this really does fundamentally change our understanding of how to treat this disease, and I foresee a great future for this approach."
Dr. Götz says the team is planning on starting trials with sheep soon, and hope to get human trials underway in 2017.
