The Taylor Series aims to teach math. Whether you're a student in a math class or someone who has ever asked the question, "What was the big deal about Calculus?" there's something here for you.
Today I talk about some of the things happening in my life and at the studio! No big reveals, aside from a scratch on my forehead from practice. Keepin' it real. :)

Things are happening! I've got a lot of irons in the fire and some fun things coming up soon. Also, look out for a poll; I need some random numbers from you!

The Taylor Series aims help people love math. Whether you're a student in a math class or someone who has ever asked the question, "What was the big deal about Calculus?" there's something here for you.
I am aiming to have one new video up every month. I hope you enjoy them!
Also, I named this the Taylor Series after the mathematical construct created by James Gregory and formally introduced by Brook Taylor ... and I picked this one in particular because my name is Derrick Taylor. :)

A vlog post! This is the unboxing of my current editing computer. Also, me being a very silly person. :)

This is the Taylor Series Vlog, where I post all sorts of miscelaneous content. Sometimes it will be musings on my journey through life, or a mathematical idea that occured to me, or sometimes it will be something that's just funny!

Today, I wish to remember a great scientist and human being, Stephen Hawking, who has passed away today on Pi Day, 2018. He was my hero for a lot of reasons, and more than just his profound love and ability with physics, astronomy, and math. He was diagnosed with ALS when he was 21, and despite a 2-years-to-live prognosis, had a career that furthered humanity's understanding of the universe through the age of 76.
Stephen Hawking, you will be remembered, you will be missed, but you will be an inspiration to all of us, your life having been a testament to the human spirit.

But I can odd! (I promise, someday, these jokes, they will be funny. Someday.)
Today, you'll learn about Set Builder Notation. But what is it? Well, Set Builder notation is a great way to capture a very technical and precise mathematical idea in what feels like shorthand, which is why I like using it (Yay efficiency!). But as with any shorthand, it can be dense, so I wanted to clarify some details surrounding it. There is a LOT to know regarding that notation, so I cover just the basics.

Hoo boy. This one had a lot of physics questions, and we veered craziliy into cryptography and eventually landed on basic science. Was a blast, thank you all for joining. :)
