A judge in Atlanta this week rejected an appeal brought by five constituents from Marjorie Taylor Green's district. Uh, a lawsuit of course, that was brought by, uh, free speech for people, challenging Marjorie Taylor Green's eligibility under the 14th amendment, claiming that she had supported an insurrection and therefore should be barred from holding office. The judge in Atlanta rejected this appeal, which of course means that the hope of getting Marjorie Taylor green kicked off the ballot is now essentially non-existent. Now this group, the five voters free speech for people. They had filed the appeal because they said that the previous judge who ruled she could stay on the ballot, made four distinct legal errors in his decision. And this appellate judge said, I don't care. No, no, he didn't. We're not even gonna hear your case. And here's the thing I supported this lawsuit. And I said, you know, if any of these, you know, 14th amendment challenges to any candidates have a chance of being successful. It was in fact, the one against Marjorie Taylor green because of what she had put on social media. But the judge actually did point out. He said, listen, I'm not completely irrational here. He didn't say that, but that's kind of the gist of the ruling. He said, you failed to tie all this in and prove that her words encourage these people, that her actions led to those actions. And if you cannot tie all these pieces up together, I cannot bar her from being on the ballot. And as much as I hate to say it, as much as I did support this lawsuit, that is the correct decision. Legally speaking, if you can't tie up all these loose ends, if you can't prove that a caused B caused C you've lost your case. And of course, this was always an uphill battle for free speech for people, for these constituents. It, it was near impossible to prove these things, but at least they tried, you know, I give them top marks, full credit for at least trying to do the right thing here. They did do the right thing. They just unfortunately did not have enough with their case to tie her up to this because I don't think the actual evidence to tie her up does exist. Now that doesn't mean, I think that she is innocent. By the way, personally, I do believe her words help spur on some of these insurrectionists. I can't prove that in a court of law. So my opinion means absolutely nothing. Now here's where you might really have a chance though. When we look at what the judge is telling us that you have to have, and we don't have it for Marjorie Taylor green, we didn't have it for Madison Callthorne. We didn't have it for some of the other folks that have Been challenged. You know who we do pretty much have it for Donald Trump, him encouraging people go fight like hell. And they literally turn around March to the capital and storm it. I don't know about you, but I think if hard evidence, hard evidence exists, that is it. So a 14th amendment challenge to Donald Trump might be successful. It's very difficult to prove because a lot of it also hinges on whether or not the judge in question who hears this specific case, even views what happened on January 6th as an insurrection, if it was just a riot, your case is already thrown out because it has to be insurrection. Well folks, MIT Romney actually made a very good point this week during a Senate hearing. Now, before I go any further, please understand I do not like MIT Romney. I do not like him at all. I have repeatedly said that the Democrats should not consider him an ally just because he also doesn't like Donald Trump. Democrats were in charge of the House and the Senate and of course the White House for two straight years. You did pass reconciliation bills that were able to be passed with a simple majority. You didn't need, you know, 60 votes to bust a filibuster. You could have just done the debt ceiling then, and at that point we wouldn't be in the mess we're in right now. He's not wrong. He's also not right about a couple things. I can get to that in a minute, but overall, he's not wrong. Folks, why didn't the Democrats do that? Well, as talking points, memo points out, part of the reason the Democrats didn't want to do that is cuz they didn't want Republicans to then go and campaign that Democrats are raising the debt. And then we all know what happened in 2022, right? Republicans went out there and campaigned saying Democrats are raising the debt just like in, you know, 2020 where we can't put Bernie Sanders up, they'll call him a socialist and then we put up Biden and everybody on the right continues to this day to call him a socialist. So Democrats, you're really, really bad at this. You are really dumb when it comes to trying to avoid a label because Republicans are gonna slap it on you anyway, you had the chance. Now this does not absolve Republicans of prolonging the disaster that we're in right now. It is safe to say that the reason the debt ceiling negotiations are still falling apart is because Republicans are causing them to fall apart. Republicans would love a default because it's gonna be even worse than a government shutdown and they think Biden will be blamed for that. I think they're wrong about it, but we'll see. So he, he tried to make a joke of a, and he tried to say like, 90% of the people there totally loved me. It's only 10% that were booing. Um, I also, by the way, don't agree with all the headlines that he's booed off stage. I would say, based on the clips I have seen, we're probably talking about 50 50, right? Almost in even split in the crowd. I mean, you heard it in there. There were tons of people cheering for him. There were also tons of people booing him, and the more you watch it, it basically stays the same. So I would call it about a 50 50, but that's still a really, really terrible reception for Elon Musk. And I think it's pretty obvious why a lot of people don't like Elon Musk. Uh, it has nothing to do with politics, honest to God. It has nothing to do with his politics. There's plenty of right wing conservatives out there who I don't hate, right? Like I, I've been watching the Santa Claus's series on Disney Plus. I don't mind watching Tim Allen. I find him funny. I, I don't support his politics at all, but I'm capable of enjoying a performance from a conservative actor. Elon Musk is a different story because it's not about politics with him. It's about power. It's about influence. It's about an, uh, egomaniac with more money than he knows what to do with, who wants to buy the love and devotion of people in this country. Again, he is exactly like Donald Trump. He is exactly like him. He wants to be loved, he wants to be admired, he wants to be respected, and he will spend however much money he has to spend to make it happen. Something Trump can't do, but it backfires because people view him as an immature man, baby. And it's very transparent what he's trying to do.
