The Original Simple Rockets was a 2d rocket building game which proved to be an excellend substitute for Kerbal Space Program on mobile devices. Now Simple Rockets 2 is full 3D and is launching on PC, and while some people will dismiss it as a Kerbal clone, it's different enough to be a viable alternative to my favourite game.

Return of the Obra Dinn is the brainchild of Lucas Pope, best known for Papers Please. The game is another experiment in story telling using a unique 1 bit colour depth graphics system combined with a game mechanic that involves investigating the fate of the crew and passengers using a magic pocket watch.
This is only a demo, it's not even the first demo of the game that has been released, but it's shown a lot of progress in terms of visual design.

Back in 2012 I built a rover that walked on the Mun, now it seems a few people are building these, so I spent a little while making a better one.

In the late 1970's NASA & JPL were preparing for the Voyager spacecraft to fly by Jupiter, the first destination on their grand tour of the solar system, a mission which would revolutionize our understanding of the outer planets. And a small group of computer wizards had an innovative idea on how to explain to the public what was going on using the nascent technology of computer graphics. The animations which were produced used computer hardware which was state of the art in that era, but today my phone's CHARGER has more processing power (https://forrestheller.com/Apollo-11-Computer-vs-USB-C-chargers.html)
And those animations would be some of the first attempts at realistic CGI, and very likely the most widespread from the era. The creator would spend some time at ILM getting the visual effects industry a real start in CGI for cinema.

Kerbal Space Program 1.0.5 is counting down to undocking, it brings with it a complete overhaul of the thermal system, a handful of new parts and new contract options for career mode and finally the water has been tamed and is no longer a death sentence.

THIS GUIDE IS FOR AN OLD VERSION OF KSP.
"CAREER MODE" in this release is now "SCIENCE MODE" in the current release.
Building a vehicle able to land on Minmus. I strongly recommend Minmus as the first target for a landing because it can be done with a much smaller vehicle than is needed for a Mun landing. Next part will actually cover the landing.

Less than a day to go before New Horizons flys close to a tiny object discovered on the edge of our solar system. This body wasn't discovered until a few years ago, and yet it also represents one of the most ancient, unevolved bodies in the solar system.

Old scientific data sometimes contains important information, in the case of Magellan scientists looking at the data found some really solid evidence that Venusian volcanoes are active, answering a long standing question about the planet.
