Join Ron Watson for a special play session using the Play+ philosophy. Watch as ?Cupcake?, the enthusiastic canine star, shows us how the 'Where's the Trigger?' game can be combined with pedestal work to create an engaging learning experience.
The game begins with Cupcake on a pedestal. Ron marks her arrival with a 'wait' cue, then waits for her to give him attention. This pattern repeats as Cupcake is directed to different pedestals, creating a rhythm and drama to their interaction. As Cupcake follows Ron's cues, she learns not just the tasks, but also the rhythm and connection necessary for coordinated play, such as in Frisbee.
However, it's crucial that Cupcake waits for Ron's trigger before moving between pedestals. If she jumps ahead, she's taking the initiative, which can be detrimental to coordinated play. Ron demonstrates this by having Cupcake wait for his signal before moving to a pedestal, even if she's guessed correctly where he wants her to go.
During this playtime, Cupcake is also learning to perform other behaviors while maintaining a duration behavior on the pedestal. Layering behaviors in this way enhances her understanding of complex tasks and increases her engagement.
In this fun and educational session, you'll see the power of the 'Where's the Trigger?' game and the importance of maintaining the initiative during play. Remember, your dog should follow your lead, not the other way around. So, keep the initiative, ensure your cues are followed, and let your dog enjoy the rhythm and drama of the game. Get ready to take your playtime to the next level with Ron Watson and ?Cupcake?.

Hang out in the bus with Ron in this unscripted and rather convolutely organized livestream show... Tune in to see if we can manage to skirt our way around and steer clear of all the disc dog rabbitholes for a whole couple of hours...
