After we left the Alamo we walked across the street to an entrance to the River Walk. This has to be the most unique use of a flood control channel. We only covered a small part of the walk. We had lunch while we were there, I had the fish and chips, it was very good and was a very generous portion. If your in the San Antonia area I highly recommend spending some time at the River Walk. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8ckiBL12eg

One of the best winter getaway camp grounds in Arizona. The lake is stocked with fish. The bird watching trail is a great walk, a ranger does a guided walk Monday through Friday at 9:00 AM. Boats are available to rent. There is a store and visitors center with camping supplies and souvenirs. The small but quaint town of Patagonia is located 7 miles away were there is a post office, restaurant and store and several churches.

A great RV park about four miles from Mexico. great place to camp if your doing a day trip into Mexico to visit the Pink Store in Paloma Mexico. They great you with a margarita when you first enter the store. They have all the typical Mexican Items like pottery, statues, panchos, tequila, vanilla, and a great restaurant. If you buy a bunch of souvenirs, they load you up in a pink golf cart and drive you back across the border.

After walking for an hour or so and having lunch we decided to take one of the many boats that are available. At $ 9.00 for seniors it was a great deal. The ride was about an hour long. I shortened the video to a little over 30 minutes. Feel free to skip ahead if you get bored.

Patagonia Lake State Park is our favorite winter campsite. Water and electricity at each site, convenient dump site, general store, and visitor center provide all your needs. Cold nights but warm sunny days make for a great place to vacation. Resturants are a few miles away in the community of Patagonia. Being so close to the Mexican border makes for some great food.

A road trip from Bakersfield to Kernville through the Kern river canyon ending at Central Park. The canyon road (Hwy 178) is very crooked and is subject to frequent delays and closures due to rock slides and car accidents. The road follows the river with lots of pullouts making it easy to stop and wet your feet in the water on a hot day. Be very careful if you plan to play in the water. Several people drown in the river every year. The current is much swifter than it appears. If you decide to get in the water please put on a life vet. The water above the lake in much safer and has several rafting companies that provide safe ways to enjoy the river. Stay safe and have fun.
