Rio Salado's 3 gun match directors recently did something interesting: they offered 2 gun as an option within an already existing 3 gun event.
They had excellent turn out, as they usually do for their matches, and just about half of the competitors opted to shoot 2 gun in lieu of 3 gun, including some pretty hardcore 3 gun (even sponsored) shooters.
In this video we discuss this interesting strategy towards spreading 2 gun, why a variety of different flavors of 2 gun is a good thing, and demonstrate the stages to demonstrate how they leveraged this clever idea.

Stage 8: Welcome to the hills of the 'stan!
Use the Rifle Dynamics supplied red dot equipped stage rifle to engage "long range steel" from the tank trap prop, limited to 6 rounds. Acquire your rifle and assault the enemies in an rabid one man assault through a canyon.
InRangeTV was at the first Red October AK match in 2016, and we returned in 2017. The match is nearly double the size of the inagural event, coming in at over 200 competitors!
Ian brought his Valmet, and Finnish gear in the AK "Light" division.
Karl competed in "Armored" with 6b43/45 "Ratnik" Russian LBV and plates along with the Ak74 he won last year now field modified to replicate Russian specialist configs. We're lovingly calling this ~12lbs beast the "Alpha" AK.

The CETME-L is a maligned Spanish military rifle that is a very close cousin to the HK33. The CETME firm decided to design and build their own roller delayed 5.56 rifle to replace the legacy CETME-C that was chambered in 308.
The CETME-L did not last long in Spanish service due to its many foibles and strange design choices. That said, we tested a Century Arms C308 G3/CETME variant in one of our mud tests and it performed above average.
How well will the CETME-L do?

We sit down for a little over an hour with Cy and Lauren Hudson of Hudson Manufacturing to discuss the realities of the firearms industry and what it takes to design, develop and ultimately manufacture a new gun for the consumer market.

First off, I must give very special thanks to John McCusker for his gracious hospitality for allowing us to film, as well as for his research and candid approach to the history, and the social ramifications of this topic that resonate still to this day.
If you're in New Orleans, or visiting, make sure you take time to go see the 1811 Kid Ory House and say hi to John from InRange & Atun-Shei:

On one of my more recent trips to New Orleans, I got together with Atun-Shei and we visited the Andry plantation house where the 1811 Slave Revolt began. In this video, we re-examine the uprising with fresh perspectives on what actually may have happened and contrast it to the relatively tiny amount of academic research done in relation to the actual significance of this important American revolt for freedom.
The 1811 Revolt, despite being the largest rebellion of enslaved people in American history, has not been the source of much scholarship, and in many ways is still poorly understood. Regardless, we were surprised how much our visit forced us to rethink the conventional historical narrative. In Atun-Shei's companion video, we examine the uprising primarily from a military perspective, discussing the weaponry the rebels used, the tactics they employed, and the likelihood of the rebels' long-term success if their battle with the local planter militia had gone a little bit differently.

In this episode we learn that Vz52 mag pouches will get you killed on the streets.
Sinistral Rifleman and Karl are getting ready for Red October 2018, and what better way to do so than to use the 2G-ACM match?
Karl is using a Vz52/57 in 7.62x39 & a T33 Tokarev.
SR is using a Lee Armory Ak47 (red dot sight) & KE17 Stealth Special Pistol
Let's shake off the rust and see what comes out?

Fairly recently TulAmmo switched from copper washed to zinc washed bi-metal projectiles.
While many ranges and matches prohibit any bullets that draw a magnet, ranges that previously allowed copper washed post-ComBloc manufacture ammunition are now specifically prohibiting the use of these zinc washed bullets due to concerns about steel target damage and "splashback".
Let's test TulAmmo zinc washed bullets against legitimate M193 at 20 yards and see if we can figure this out.

We removed the Brownells' Retro Colt scope from my Colt SP1 for Mike to use it with irons only at DB2020. That brought up a question from a number of curious viewers: does it retain zero upon reinstall?
Let's find out.
