Operational Excellence is a UC Berkeley effort to reduce costs and improve campus operations in order to ensure that as large a fraction as possible of the campus resources are directed to its core mission of teaching and research.
The Operational Excellence Steering Committee, with support from a Working Group of 25 Berkeley staff and Bain & Company, has completed the six-month diagnostic phase. They gathered and analyzed data from across the campus and identified key areas that offer significant opportunities to improve our campuss operational effectiveness and reduce the costs of campus operations that support Berkeleys teaching and research mission. http://berkeley.edu/oe/
