In this video, I take a look at a project on Rod Elliott's Sound Products website which is an experimental operational amplifier in discrete form.
The project can be found here: https://sound-au.com/project07.htm

Originally designed by Darren Yates of Silicon Chip magazine back in the mid '90's, I join the current "pre-champ" kit available from Jaycar Electronics to the original "Champ" transistor amplifier. The above mentioned kit is the pre-amp to an LM386 (I'm not a great fan of that IC). So, sit back, grab your favorite beverage and enjoy this video. I will say as a side note that the reason the re-routed PCB's version (that I made) of the pre-amp doesn't perform the same as the kit's is most likely the choice for the type of capacitor for the 0.0015uF. I believe I used a ceramic disc 0.0015uF (152) which is the wrong type to use. Ceramics should used in RF circuits, not audio.

The PCB boards are now here! So, we can assemble the PSU and get it working.

In this video, I construct an NTE1431 (BA306) IC that is obscure and was used in the Science Fair's "160-in-one" Electronics Project Kit. Fun little experiment. Doesn't work as well as I remember it did. It could be because of the choice of transistors (ie: hFe may be too low, resistors need adjusting, etc.).
Note: Ignore my banter about the BC546 pinout. I was actually wrong, it's always been C B E. I was confusing it with the 2N3904/6 which is E B C. It's been a while since I've done anything design wise with transistors, so, I'm rusty! Lol. Enjoy!

Some things just don't want to be fixed, and this Kenwood modular thing is no different. You need to know when to call it, and I called it.

In this video, I demonstrate the use of 555 timer ICs to recreate the classic up down wailing sound of an emergency vehicle. Just be careful not get arrested for impersonating a police car, as this looks suspicious... just kidding. A PCB has been designed for this, and will be presented in a later video when it's manufactured. Have fun!

Track matte key in Adobe Premiere is widely used in conjunction with a blur effect to mask someone's face, or other body part if they're doing something... rude. Sometimes, the blur and track matte work fine without issue, sometimes, however, no matter how hard you try, the entire video is blurred. Here's how to resolve that issue.
This is for CS4, and I'm not sure if effects the earlier CS versions, or the latest versions, such as 2022.

At least it powers up and actually works as an amplifier. However, it won't turn off; the power switch has no effect. Let's find out why.

In the newest major update of the game (November 2020), KingsIsle added a new world called "Karamelle". In it, they have goblins that have an attack spell that basically... farts on you. In my immature and childish ways, the whole time I've played this game, I've often thought it would be funny to have a spell that farts on your opponent. KingsIsle must have heard me.
