macOS Big Sur: Key UX/UI Changes You Need to Know About
Continuing from the recent Apple developments in the silicon space (M1 chip release) as well as the accompanying release of the new macOS Big Sur, this video will cover the latter. I'll walk you through some of the key areas in the new operating system that all user researchers, product designers and UX specialists should know about. While the majority of the enhancements will be to do with the design system unification and UI streamline across the mobile and desktop experiences, there are a few challenges that you as a designer will need to face in the near future.
Sometime back I asked my viewers if there's anyone who would like to get their UX portfolios reviewed and shared with the broader audience. While it must be daunting to put it out there, constructive feedback and specific pointers can make all the difference. I've received a few asks to review the portfolios and this video will mark the third request by one of the product designers from LA. In this UX portfolio review video, I'll give specific improvement pointers and highlight areas in his UX case study selection that could make or break a portfolio in the review process. There is no better way to learn what good looks like besides an open review.
Would you like your UX design portfolio to be reviewed with constructive pointers? Drop me a line below or hello@vaexperience.com. Please be explicit that you are ok for me to share it in a video.
I recently also created a playlist that contains all my videos on UX portfolios here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLM2Dd2NIn2Co0dXW7ySkIQEl-8zMcrQiP

In this recent highlight taken from the Get More Done for UX designers Livestream (part 2), I'll walk through one of the most important process frameworks for any UX designer. Too many, especially growing designers, focus on the outputs and production on the deliverables instead of focusing on much more important customer behaviour change and outcomes. While both sides are important, the order can make or break the end-user experience. The fact is if you want to have a more strategic input on how the UX is introduced and positioned this is an important paradigm shift in mindset.

Episode 29: AI Photo Generator
This week’s pick: AI photo generator experiment from NVIDIA.Not the most user-friendly, but surely powerful and impressive machine learning piece. By selecting a sample bitmap and drawing a rough sketch you'll get a quickly generated output. Most of it looks a bit watercoloured or washed out, however some landscapes look too true to life. Most importantly, it's a glimpse into the things to come and the near future where seemingly menial task can be supported by smart content generation AIs.

Note: we're not affiliated with the tool makers. It's just a great UX tool you should know about.
In this new weekly UX design, user research and product design tools series I'll share some of the best picks I've encountered to date. You'll find out about the best apps, extensions, websites and other helpful tools.

It's not a secret that quantifying the ROI of UX is a very hard thing to do. Especially for the new and risky ventures. That's why the majority of organizations default to overtly lean research and design methods. In this video, I'll share one of the recent business cases, where skipping a simple user research efforts resulted in an immediate product failure and costly business impact. Case in point game maker and publisher's Blizzard Diablo Immortals announcement fiasco. The initial response was anything by positive and coupled with a poor overall financial performance set the business for a couple of years or rough patching. While the financial state of any business is a super complex subject, what's clear is that with just a little bit more UX research the product in hand could have gotten very different reception and the reported 10-20% drop in value could have been avoided altogether. In this video, I'll walk you through some of the key customer feedback bits, the shortcomings of the uninformed product and UX decisions and few simple methods could have resulted in a very different outcome.
