Do I Need A Prestigious Degree To Get Hired By A Big Company?
This is a question I receive a lot: "John, do I need a prestigious degree to get hired by a big company?".
People fear that they won't be able to get hired by a big company like Google or Microsoft if they don't possess a prestigious degree. Is is true?
Big companies have merely two ways of recruiting people: 1- They use recruiters and get people right from universities. Those are the really big universities, the prestigious one. 2- They get a referral.
If you don't fit on the first option, there is definitely other paths you should follow to get hired by a big company. Bottom line is: No... You actually DON'T need a prestigious degree to get hired by a big company.

I'm Overwhelmed By Technology... HELP!
Most software developers suffer from a very bad curse from the field: fast paced technology change.
All software developers, at some point in their careers, face this curse, no matter how experienced you are. How do you cope with new programming languages coming out each new day? How do we learn the new names of technology while working full time as a developer?
This is why I talk about how important it is for people to learn how to learn. Nowadays, reading a book cover to cover is simply useless.
How do you learn faster so you are able to keep up wit the technology changes? Watch this video and find out!

God's Debris Book: https://simpleprogrammer.com/godsdebris
"God's Debris: A Thought Experiment" Book Review
So, here is another book review, today, with kind of a different book. Today I'm going to review "God's Debris". I decided to read this book because I was interested in knowing more about that subject. very well covered by this amazing book.
Here is the book description extracted from Amazon:
"Explore the mysteries and magic of the cosmos with the acclaimed creator of Dilbert.
God's Debris is the first non-Dilbert, non-humor book by best-selling author Scott Adams. Adams describes God's Debris as a thought experiment wrapped in a story. It's designed to make your brain spin around inside your skull.
Imagine that you meet a very old man whoâ€"you eventually realizeâ€"knows literally everything. Imagine that he explains for you the great mysteries of life: quantum physics, evolution, God, gravity, light psychic phenomenon, and probabilityâ€"in a way so simple, so novel, and so compelling that it all fits together and makes perfect sense. What does it feel like to suddenly understand everything?
You may not find the final answer to the big question, but God's Debris might provide the most compelling vision of reality you will ever read. The thought experiment is this: Try to figure out what's wrong with the old man's explanation of reality. Share the book with your smart friends, then discuss it later while enjoying a beverage.
It has no violence or sex, but the ideas are powerful and not appropriate for readers under fourteen"

Stop Complaining About Your Problems!
Do you complain about your problems? C'mon, you don't need to lie to me. I know you do. I do it too. We all do it right? I know it sucks, but this is something we must avoid if we want to evolve as people.
Complaining about out problems may seem the only option available once something bad happens to us, right? Well, I have to disagree.
For a long time, I was caught up in this looping of complaining about my problems and, well, my life was not good back then. I suffered a lot and I felt like I was trapped inside of my own life.
But John, how were you able to change your behavior? How were you supposed to stop complaining about your problems and take other approaches to your life?
Watch this video and find out how I stopped complaining about my problems and why you should do it too.

A programming interview is a technical job interview in the software industry or in information technology (IT) departments of major corporations to test candidates' technical knowledge, coding ability, problem solving skills, and creativity about computers. Candidates usually have a degree in computer science, information science, computer engineering or electrical engineering, and are asked to solve programming problems, algorithms, puzzles, and/or computer related technical questions as used in Microsoft interviews.

When I worked for Hewlett Packard, part of my job was to interview "top-notch" C++ programmers to add to our team. These programmers would join my team of proven top-notch C++ developers whose job it was to debug the most complex problems and triage them to be fixed by the product development team.
Oftentimes, I'd sit at the interview table and look at a resume of a supposedly "expert C++ programmer" who had over 15 years of experience, and I'd ask them one simple question about C++, but they couldn't answer it.
In this video I'll talk more about the process of coding interviews and why it is important to companies to realize this process and what you can do about it to make sure you'll destroy every chance of getting busted.

Top 10 C++ Books (Beginner & Advanced)
So, a lot of you guys requested a Top 10 C++ Books and well... There you have it!
Lately, I've been doing a lot of different Top Books on my channel. I figured it is an awesome way of providing a good way to start for those who want to learn new programming languages or even for those people that want to study more about a specific language.
So, in this video I'll give you my Top 10 C++ Books. This will be an awesome resource for those who want to learn C++, especially nowadays if a lot of information overload. Having focus and knowing where you want to go will definitely make a big difference on how fast you'll learn C++
If you don't know, C++ is one of the most popular programming languages nowadays. It is a robust language and here are only a few of its pros:
- Is extremely popular, and therefore lots of support is available.
- Has a large base of freely available code for download, while also supporting direct integration with ASM and C.
- Is very powerful, and can be used to create just about any program, including low-level system programs.
- There is a compiler for C++ on every major operating system. C++ programs that are purposely written for portability will work on many major operating systems with little change in code.
- C++ is a language which is compiled (transformed from human readable code to low-level machine code), so it can often run faster than languages such as Java, Python, and C#; as it does not depend on an interpreter or a "run-time environment" which must be loaded beforehand.
- Has a long established usage base that likely guarantees support for the language will continue for quite some time.
- Many languages are based off of C/C++, such as Java, so knowledge in C++ will make it easier to understand these languages.
- Has a relatively small associated C++ Standard Library as compared to languages such as Java's Standard Platform SDK or C#'s .NET Framework, permitting greater versatility and reducing the system footprint of resulting compilations.
- Has been standardized by the International Standards Association as ISO/IEC 14882 with significant versions of the standard released in 1998, 2003 and 2011.
- Has a significant number of open source libraries available, including the Boost which are freely and widely available.

"My Big TOE" Book Review
So, the name might have caused something on you. WTF is "My Big Toe"? My Big Toe states for "My Big Theory Of Everything", which is an awesome book that I recently read and decided to do a review.
Starting with the theory that consciousness is the foundation of all being, MBT makes the paradoxes of quantum physics, being and our infinitely expanding and self-programming universe explainable to everyone. This fascinating book weaves together science, spirituality, consciousness, love, values and paranormal experiences such as the out of body experience into a complete unified theory of absolutely everything in a way that leaves room for beliefs such as a universal love consciousness, or as Campbell calls is 'Absolute Unbounded Oneness' (AUO), or if you prefer the existence of God.
Campbell puts this larger reality onto a solid footing by combining Quantum Physics with his own ability to enter the single point consciousness awareness state through meditation (the point of fundamental consciousness) and using this, and his scientific knowledge as the basis for the understanding that the connectedness of all beings is the fundamental nature of consciousness. Campbell explored consciousness and reality through his work as a physicist and consciousness researcher at the Monroe Institute, the worlds most respected research centre for the Out of Body Experience (OBE). Through meditation and later exploring methods such as Binaural Brainwave techniques Campbell was able to access a dual state of conscious awareness where he was able to perform high level functions simultaneously in both Physical Reality (PR) and Non Physical Reality (NPR). His awareness later developed further enabling him to continuously see 'energy' such as auras within this state of dual awareness, something that is difficult to achive for prolonged periods.
So, is this book worth reading? If you're interested in physics and reading about new theories about how the world works, this is definitely something you should keep an eye on.
