We pit Jacob Black from Twilight against our favorite oxidizer Potassium Chlorate.
Interestingly enough, the plastic he's made out of is highly resistant to the oxidizing conditions of the potassium chlorate. So Jacob actually wins this battle. But we still want to see him in flames so we mix some sugar into the chlorate to turn it into a flaming inferno. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nk3TIIm-Ipc
I stick my hand (momentarily) directly into liquid nitrogen but don't suffer any injuries due to the Leidenfrost effect.
The Leidenfrost effect is the formation of a gas barrier between a hot surface and a boiling liquid if the temperature difference is great enough. This gas barrier greatly slows the heat transfer between the two and allows the liquid to last longer and consequently the hot surface to remain hot longer. This effect can be seen in a frying pan as it's being heated. At first the water quickly boils as it's dropped in but at a hot enough temperature the Leidenfrost effect takes over and makes the water skate around the surface lasting a very long time.
Liquid nitrogen vs. a room temperature object will also exhibit the effect preventing it from instantly freezing the object... such as my hand.

In this video we demonstrate the structural failure of an aluminum baseball bat induced by gallium metal.
First the aluminum metal baseball bat is filed to removed the surface layer of paint and aluminum oxide. The bat is then placed in a beaker of molten gallium and allowed to diffuse through for a couple of days. Afterward the normally strong bat is rendered extremely weak and can easily be broken with just physical strength.
What's happening is the gallium metal is diffusing in between the grain boundaries of the aluminum microcrystals and disrupts their bonding. Being unable to bond together the aluminum is rendered extremely weak. Some of the aluminum also dissolves into the gallium to form an alloy. Some people say it's an amalgam but that's a misnomer. Amalgams are mercury based alloys. Just like steels are normally iron based alloys. While some specific gallium alloys have specific names like galinstan, as a class, gallium alloys don't have a special name and they're just called alloys, they're not amalgams.

How to make Silver Nitrate from Silver and Nitric acid.
WARNING: This reaction produces toxic nitrogen dioxide gas. Do not perform this reaction indoors, only do it in a fumehood or outside.
Simply place some pure silver in concentrated nitric acid and heat it up. The reaction proceeds too slowly in cold nitric acid to be useful.
Wrap your silver in aluminum wire to better control the reaction. If it proceeds out of control and fizzes too much or generates too much gas too fast then you can pull the silver out of the acid to stop the reaction.
Only aluminum is resistant to nitric acid, other metals are destroyed and will contaminate your acid.

we show how to make flowers glow in the dark under ultraviolet light using a fluorescent dye.
You really only need two things, an ultraviolet lamp and a fluorescent highlighter. Open the highlighter and squeeze a few drops of the fluorescent ink into a cup of water. Now take the flower (i find white carnations to be the best) and cut the stem underneath the solution. Leave the flower in overnight and the dye will have been absorbed into the flower.
Now simply shine an ultraviolet light onto the flower to cause the highlighter dye to glow. whats amazing is that the glow isn't uniform but will glow bighter in areas where the dye accumulates. Often this gives a more complex pattern to the flower.
So for valentine's day, give glow in the dark flowers.
