Take Your Mind Out Of Your Mouth | "Method" for the First Jhana
A more detailed description of the Jhana practice of recollectedness and the true meaning of the Suttas' 'parimukham' or recollection 'around the mouth'. This practice is not about attending or feeling the "sensations" of one's mouth. It's about recollecting the IMAGE of the factual, enduring, present, non-speaking, mouth that is just there. The "mouth" at that time stands for that which is the body in one's experience as a whole, much like body postures stand for it in the practice of Satipatthana.

The common mistake is to think "I am therefore that's why things belong to me". In truth, this is upside down and the reason one suffers from the Self-view is because things are taken as "mine" FIRST.
