"White Christmas" is an Irving Berlin song reminiscing about an old-fashioned Christmas setting, released in 1942. The version sung by Bing Crosby is the world's best-selling single with estimated sales in excess of 50 million copies worldwide. When the figures for other versions of the song are added to Crosby's, sales of the song exceed 100 million.
Accounts vary as to when and where Berlin wrote the song. One story is that he wrote it in 1940, in warm La Quinta, California, while staying at the La Quinta Hotel, a frequent Hollywood retreat also favored by writer-director-producer Frank Capra, although the Arizona Biltmore also claims the song was written there. He often stayed up all night writing. One day he told his secretary, "I want you to take down a song I wrote over the weekend. Not only is it the best song I ever wrote, it's the best song anybody ever wrote."
Not often discussed is the magical Christmas star. Many Christians believe the star was a miraculous sign. Some theologians claimed that the star fulfilled a prophecy, known as the Star Prophecy. Astronomers have made several attempts to link the star to unusual celestial events, such as a conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn or Jupiter and Venus, a comet, or a supernova.
I wanted to add that little bit in the show notes because as many of us are aware, on the 21st of December 2020, there was a conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. Many in the new age belief system see this as a sign of ascension. While the beliefs about ascension, to my mind, are somewhat exaggerated, I personally feel that such events do (eventually) have an effect. As such, we might say that right now, in 2020, the magical Christmas Star has reappeared!
What does this bode for the world? Since right now, the entirety of the planet is bogged down with political divisiveness, a sense of foreboding and fears of the China Virus, anger and upset over the general state of things, this reemergence of the Christmas Star offers us hope.
Some Christians take the return of Jesus as a literal thing, I see it more as a shift that will occur in the majority of the human race: the Christ Consciousness. I personally believe this is a very real occurrence. Without a doubt, there is indeed a 'Great Awakening' happening right now in this moment.
I see a future for humanity where the shackles will be forever removed and we will all (well, most of us), see the world in a newer, grander, more beautiful light.
"I am the Light of the World," said Jesus the Christ. He also said that the Kingdom of God is within. If such is the case, whom is it that resides and rules over that kingdom? Is He present in that Kingdom? Well, why would there be a kingdom that does not house its very King? Not only is the Kingdom of God within, but God Himself is within all of us. The realization of that is what I see as "the Second Coming of Christ." With that awareness, an entirely new civilization can be born. This is my vision of what is to come, perhaps many years down the line or perhaps soon. However it will come it will be "like a thief in the night."
"O Holy Night" is a well-known Christmas carol composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847 to the French poem "Minuit, chrétiens" (Midnight, Christians) by poet Placide Cappeau (1808–1877). The carol reflects on the birth of Jesus as humanity's redemption.
In Roquemaure at the end of 1843, the church organ had recently been renovated. To celebrate the event, the parish priest persuaded poet Placide Cappeau, a native of the town, to write a Christmas poem. Soon afterwards that same year, Adolphe Adam composed the music. The song was premiered in Roquemaure in 1847 by the ope
