Robert Wimer | Day 16 | "God Bless America" & Interview
Today was a very different day for singing under the overpass. I was being interviewed by a Kansas City station FOX 4 News (http://fox4kc.com) by a very professional and personable reporter Judy Le (http://fox4kc.com/author/fox4judyle/).
I had to do multiple take, an interview and I got the added pleasure of showing her the critters. It was a TON of fun,...all of it!
I couldn't hold my phone to record the way I usually do, but hey, variety is the spice of life.

in just under 2 months, the first foundation of my method is taking hold, as demonstrated by one of my Skype voice students.
View all the videos and learn the philosophy/exercises in The Natural Artistry of Singing: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQUT03U6m4_DJcent1ughXyH7LNa1BCKj
The Natural Artistry of Singing is a method of teaching voice that allows the student to have a natural and effortless technique which gives them better range, power, the ability to sing virtually any style of music and gives them the confidence to sing like a pro. This method also gives the student the tools to create the mindset of a professional, which gives them confidence in any situation.
The four foundations of this method are:
Technique:
Through the application of correct technique, the student can sing virtually any style of music. The Natural Artistry of Singing Method does not teach a student to mimic a style but to incorporate core fundamentals. These fundamentals are best learned in "immersion" lessons, thus establishing the technique quickly.
Artistry:
Being a "mechanically correct" singer is one thing, but capturing the attention of your audience as well as delivering a memorable performance is the goal of every singer. The Natural Artistry of Singing method goes over key techniques to find the songs "meaning", how to make the music your own and most importantly, how to deliver that message to your audience.
Mind:
It all starts with the mind and the creation of a new "vocal identity". The Natural Artistry of Singing method establishes a new paradigm (core idea) of what "singing" is meant to be. This new core idea moves the student quickly through technique, learning new materials, establishing peak performance and gives him/her the confidence found in great performers.
Body:
The human voice is unique among instruments as it is the only one that is truly a part of "you". Overall health is addressed so the singer can be at his / her peak 100% of the time. The Natural Artistry of Singing method is not about losing weight to be a better performer but being a physically healthy singer.

DONATE TO THE GREEN HILLS ANIMAL SHELTER
This Christina Perri song was,..challenging, to say the least. It took me about 5 takes to finish the song. It's one of those things of "how to sing it". I could have gone full blown Opera man on the piece, or falsetto on some of the parts. Breathy was always an option, but I decided to keep it pretty simple as sadness does not often yield complexity. I will say that this is a damn fine song and reminds me of my single days, thus me offering up thanks for being married and no longer having to worry about the hazards of dating. Jar of Hearts was a good one to sing on day 240. This will always be, as all the other songs I've done under the overpass, the original performer's song and I'm just a dude singing the tune. Christina Perri's performance is great and I can't do any better.
Lyrics:
I know I can't take one more step towards you
'Cause all that's waiting is regret
Don't you know I'm not your ghost anymore
You lost the love I loved the most
I learned to live half alive
And now you want me one more time
And who do you think you are?
Runnin' 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Who do you think you are?
I hear you're asking all around
If I am anywhere to be found
But I have grown too strong
To ever fall back in your arms
And I've learned to live half alive
And now you want me one more time
And who do you think you are?
Runnin' 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Who do you think you are?
And it took so long just to feel alright
Remember how to put back the light in my eyes
I wish I had missed the first time that we kissed
'Cause you broke all your promises
And now you're back
You don't get to get me back
And who do you think you are?
Runnin' 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Don't come back at all
And who do you think you are?
Runnin' 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
Tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
Don't come back for me
Don't come back at all
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
