Life is a myth. Time is truth. One must stand tall and strong to overcome the mortal barriers. But its hard to ignore the mind. It never leaves you. Hence one's principle should be followed. No matter how emotionally broken one could be, one must not allow darkness in his thought. One must not commit a sin. Thats what I am doing. Thats what i do every time whenever it thrashes me like this. The point is sometimes while living a life like this, i dont even feel I am alive. I dont see me really exists.
Mahalaya marks the ‘’formal’’ initiation of the puja festivities. It is considered to be the day when goddess Durga is believed to have descended to the earth. On Mahalaya Bengalies take a holy dip in the river ganges and perform the ‘’tarpan’’ whereby they offer food and water to their ancestors and recite hymns from the scriptures known as "chandipath".
At the down of ‘’Dwitia’’ the day next to Mahalaya, the idol will be brought from the studio of the idol maker, this time Sanatan Rudra Pal, and shall be placed on the platform within the pandal complex. This time College Square Sarbajanin Durgotsab Committee shall be celebrating its 68th year.
Various social welfare programmes are under taken during the pre-puja days such as blood donation camps, distribution of clothes to poor children, donations to the public welfare organisations, grants to the patients fighting for their lives against fatal diseases etc.
On "Chaturthi" the opening ceremony of our Durga puja takes place. Last year we had among us the gracious presence of many renowned personalities among them, the Honorable Governor of west Bengal was present on the inanguration of our puja.
At College Square is the “ Kumari Puja”, during which a young unmarried girl, being treated as goddess Durga herself, is worshipped.

I wish I could have explain my love. I wish I could have tell her the truths. I know this flowing time is just a mirage between us. But still in the end it breaks. That mirage was a mirror. I ask god, what were we then?

Standard of living in India varies from state to state. With one of the fastest growing economies in the world, clocked at a growth rate of 7.6% in 2015, India is on its way to becoming a large and globally important consumer economy. According to Deutsche Bank Research, there are between 30 million and 300 million middle-class people in India.[1] If current trends continue, India's share of world GDP will significantly increase from 7.3 in 2016 to 8.5 percent of the world share by 2020.[2] In 2011, less than 22 percent of Indians lived under the global poverty line, nearly a 10 percent reduction from 29.8 percent just two years prior in 2009.[3]
According to NCAER, India's middle class population would be 267 million in 2016. Further ahead, by 2025-26 the number of middle class households in India is likely to more than double from the 2015-16 levels to 113.8 million households or 547 million individuals.[4] Another estimate put the Indian middle class as numbering 475 million people by 2030.[5] It is estimated that average real wages will quadruple between 2013 and 2030.[6]
The standard of living in India shows large disparity. For example, there is widespread poverty in rural areas of India, where medical care tends to be very basic or unavailable, while cities boast of world class medical establishments. Similarly, the very latest machinery may be used in some construction projects, but many construction workers work without mechanisation in most projects.[7] However, a rural middle class is now emerging in India, with some rural areas seeing increasing prosperity.[8]
In 2010, the per capita PPP-adjusted GDP for India was US$3,608

Of the children kidnapped or abducted in 2016, 73 percent were female and 27 percent male, NCRB data show. Of the total child victims, 31 percent (16,938) were kidnapped or abducted for the purpose of marriage, of which only one victim was male; 3 percent (1,562 female and 26 male) for illicit intercourse; and 1 percent each for other unlawful activity and adoption. No purpose was mentioned in fully 62 percent of cases.
77 percent attacks attributed to fake news
Of the 69 mob violence cases related to rumours of child lifting that have been reported, 77 percent were eventually attributed to fake news spread through social media. Mobile messenger application Whatsapp, in particular, featured as the rumour source in 28 percent or 19 of the cases.
The ministry of electronics and information technology on 2 July, 2018, issued a warning to Whatsapp, observing that “instances of the lynching of innocent people because of a large number of irresponsible and explosive messages filled with rumours and provocation are being circulated on WhatsApp”.
“Such a platform cannot evade accountability and responsibility especially when good technological inventions are abused by some miscreants who resort to provocative messages which lead to the spread of violence,” the ministry said subsequently in a press release on 3 July, 2018, stating clearly that “WhatsApp must take immediate action to end this menace and ensure that their platform is not used for such malafide activities”.

Rabindranath Tagore believed teaching a student should be not in between the walls. So he used to teach his students under the tree, where they can breath and learn properly.
Teaching a child should never be a burden to him or her, but it has to be something which he or she really likes. It should be a proper way to lead a life, not to fall apart in the rat race theory.
Teachings are not always hidden under the book, it should be taught freely. A student must not carry a bag or be in uniformed to be identified. He/she should do things out of the box.
Thats what we are trying in our little ishkul.

My first documentary on the life of children in the hell of the slums. Though most of the shots are taken from the streets of Kolkata only, who's gonna recognize that these places are not slums. The way people live in the heart of the city is just piteous. However I found most them are quite happy with their life. That shouldn't be a matter of pride for us. Thats a shame.
Well this is not a thesis or survey. So I was less bothered about collecting the data and ratios. I was not even interested in taking their interviews. It was beyond my wish too. All I have seen was only the misery in their eyes, and thats what I have describe in this film.
It took four days for the whole shot. Actually I was on another project with a different subject. But in the meantime they caught my eye and I couldn't stop myself getting close to them. And the feeling I got that moment, let it be for me only.
