A mysterious super PAC that spent $1.7 million attacking Republican Rep. Martha McSally during the Arizona Senate primary was funded entirely by Senate Majority PAC, a super PAC aligned with Senate Democrats, new campaign finance disclosures show.
Red and Gold spent money solely attacking McSally in the days leading up to the August Arizona primary, where McSally — the favored candidate to win — was battling two other candidates, Kelli Ward and Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
If Ward or Arpaio had won, it would have given Democratic candidate Kyrsten Sinema a better shot at winning the open seat come November, which gave Democrats an incentive to attack McSally in the race.
The new disclosure shows that Senate Majority PAC, the main super PAC aligned with Senate Democrats, seeded Red and Gold with $1.7 million as it started attacking McSally in early August. Red and Gold ran attack ads that said McSally supported an “age tax” that led older people to pay significantly more for health insurance.

Before the hearings of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, Sen. Mazie Hirono, a Hawaii Democrat, described her approach to the presumption of innocence. “I put his denial in the context of everything that I know about him in terms of how he approaches his cases,” said Sen. Hirono. “As I said, his credibility is already very questionable in my mind and in the minds of a lot of my fellow Judiciary Committee members, the Democrats.” Translation: Kavanaugh’s judicial philosophy threatens my political agenda, so my evidentiary standard to deem him an attempted rapist has shifted to reflect that.
We talk about two sides in the debate over the sexual allegations against Kavanaugh, but really there are four: those who believe the evidence proves Kavanaugh is likely guilty, those who believe the evidence doesn’t prove Kavanaugh is likely guilty, and two factions on both sides that don’t care about the evidence at all. It’s these two factions, keen on engaging in scorched earth, political bloodsport, that threaten to derail the groundbreaking potential of the #MeToo movement.

More than half of the Netherlands' senior clerics were involved in covering up sexual assault of children between 1945 and 2010, a press report claimed Saturday, further engulfing the Catholic Church in a global abuse scandal.
Over the course of 65 years, 20 of 39 Dutch cardinals, bishops and their auxiliaries "covered up sexual abuse, allowing the perpetrators to cause many more victims", the daily NRC reported.
"Four abused children and 16 others allowed the transfer of paedophile priests who could have caused new victims in other parishes," the Dutch newspaper added.
Church spokeswoman Daphne van Roosendaal told AFP the church could "confirm a part" of the report.
Other elements were based on anonymous information provided by a victims' assistance unit set up by the church.

Sen. Ted Cruz hammered Rep. Beto O’Rourke as an ultra-liberal out of step with his state and O’Rourke trashed Cruz as a slick politician unfit for his office in the first debate of the Texas Senate race Friday night, a pivotal moment in an unexpectedly close race that has captured national attention.
Cruz spent the debate seeking to squash the enthusiasm that has O’Rourke running close in the polls, online donors pouring money into his campaign and Republicans discussing a big-money rescue mission to save the seat for the GOP. Cruz tied O’Rourke to Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other national Democratic figures unpopular in Texas, criticized him as soft on drugs and labeled him a gun-grabber.
With a raucous crowd cheering on both candidates, Cruz couldn’t resist pressing his case even when asked by the moderators to say something nice about O’Rourke, saying he admired the Democrat’s willingness to stand up for socialist beliefs and high taxes even though he knew it must be unpopular.
“True to form,” replied O’Rourke, who had just praised Cruz’s parenting.

All indications are that Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles will start when the defending champs open the regular season against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday. Pederson even admitted during his news conference that Carson Wentz hasn’t been cleared for contact.
But he also took issue with a report Saturday by NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport stating Foles will start.
“First of all, I appreciate y’all putting words in my mouth this week, and, therefore, I’m not going to discuss it,” Pederson said when asked about the quarterback decision. When asked what words were put in his mouth, Pederson said: “You saw the reports.”

Subscribe to the channel at https://goo.gl/VjHw6T A new bombshell report revealed how Google’s top executives were working to help get Hillary Clinton elected. The news reveals how the world’s biggest search engine was interfering with our democracy. Not to let this go unnoticed, Donald Trump Jr humiliated both Google and the former presidential candidate.
Boy oh boy is the evidence stacking up. Ever since America elected Donald Trump to the White House, the left has been spinning lie after lie. They really can’t except the fact that Hillary lost, even after all this time. Not a big surprise, some Democrats are still upset Al Gore lost in 2000!
Ever since Election Day, Democrats have been pushing the lie that Donald Trump meddled in our election. They cooked up a bogus dossier that claims Russia was forcing Trump to run for office. The left also wants you to believe that Trump, with help from Russia, hacked the DNC’s emails and Hillary’s emails.
It was all a series of massive lies to undermine our fair and free election. What we have learned over the last two years was that there was, in fact, election meddling. But Trump wasn’t involved.

Defending the oil supply costs a lot of money.
One of the pretenses of right-wing energy policy is that conservatives support a “level playing field,” upon which energy sources can compete without subsidies. Let the market decide!
As I have written many times, this is a juvenile notion. Markets are powerful tools for directing private capital and innovation, useful in the right circumstances. But the idea that there ever has been, or ever can be, an open, unbiased, “free” market for energy sources is a fantasy that should stay in the college library with the Ayn Rand novels. It is analytically inert; it does nothing to illuminate whether current markets are working or help us decide how best to use markets to serve our greater goals.
The fundamental reason the “free market” ideal is unhelpful in energy is that it’s impossible to ever truly settle what is and isn’t a market-distorting subsidy. Some subsidies, like explicit cash grants or tax breaks, are easy enough to identify, but beyond that there is a whole complex world of implicit subsidies.

Subscribe to the channel at https://goo.gl/VjHw6T Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight is one of the few open conservatives in Hollywood and one of even fewer who’s willing to openly support President Trump. In an appearance on Mark Levin’s Fox News show this weekend, he managed to give his reasons pretty succinctly — in just under two minutes, actually.
Voight, who appeared at Trump’s inauguration, is probably best known these days as the father of actress Angelina Jolie. He’s an accomplished thespian in his own right, having won Best Actor at the Oscars in 1979 for his role in Hal Ashby’s “Coming Home.”
In his appearance on this weekend’s “Life, Liberty and Levin,” Voight was asked by the host what he would say to America about the president.
“Well, I would say, ‘have hope.’ There’s wonderful things happening every day thanks in great part to this president that we have,” Voight said.

Subscribe to the channel at https://goo.gl/VjHw6T (Reuters) - Tiger Woods, Bryson DeChambeau and Phil Mickelson are expected to be named on the United States Ryder Cup team when Jim Furyk announces three of his captain’s picks on Tuesday.

Furyk will reveal his selections in Philadelphia but there is less suspense than usual, with the names all but picking themselves for the team to face Europe in France this month.
It is inconceivable that 14-times major champion Woods, arguably the greatest player ever, could be left out after the form he has displayed in his comeback this year from a potentially career-ending back injury.
Woods contended in the final two majors and, though he did not win either, showed that he is still a player for the big occasion at the age of 42.
