For some reason it was still 9C out today, so I gave it a go. ~20mph winds made it a bit flail and flutter, but It was decent fun nonetheless. The radio tower dive @2:15 was awesome, but there were a few factors that limited it; must try again there when the leaves are back, the heroin users are not, and the wind isn't blowing against it.
This is another ImmersionRC PowerPlay DVR session edit; 16 packs @2:00m each. Slightly tweaked w/ DaVinci Resolve 16.1.1's "4x Super Scale" and some like Temporal NR.

Added JST, 5V Beeper, Silicone Conformal Coating and black glint tape (hopefully I won't lose it with all these mods). I modded the Beetle lens for IR / night vision after removing it from the VTX. I used a VTX from a FireFly, cause it supports SmartAudio. I direct-soldered the "URUAV Micro UXII Stubby RHCP" to the FireFly VTX and secured it between the rear props on the bottom.

This is a semi-tuned maiden, unfortunately in 20mph gusts of wind. It's very floaty, with no options for increasing braking power afaik. The 48kHz might have something to do with it, but I'd rather have the efficienty and fly around the tendancy to float down on these giant parachute props.

My second and last session with the CL-0615-14 motors, cause dinging that trashcan killed one; bent shaft / won't spin. I finally felt what it feels like to partially lose control link in the air... sluggish control, and you can watch it basically continue action based on old commands. Apparently my torso isn't radiotransparent at 2.4GHz (makes sense; same freq as microwave ovens and I'm a giant bloody bag of water).

Random edit from the yard, showing off the crispy 60fps from the RapidFIRE / PowerPlay.
Whenever that "Media Offline" thingy comes up, it's because there is condensation in the AIO causing a bad signal, usually cause I crashed into the grass.

Random, mostly nocturnal, all handheld shots; nothing deliberate or planned. In LeBoring ol' SEMI burbs.
I'm still learning everything, especially how to get the most out of the GH5 at night; this likely represents the rock bottom quality compared to what an experienced videographer could achieve with this combo.
This is my new favorite lens, hands down... Chinese glass has been completely spectacular lately! They've really created a lens with serious character and versatility here, especially for night; when I'm actually awake. The halo flaring disappears around F1.1 if you don't like them, and also sharpens up the furthest end (∞) of the focus by a tiny bit which is just barely discernable at 4K. Nearer in, the focus is fairly forgiving wide-open; I found it easy to nail, yet stiff enough to keep my hand on it in case the subject moved.
Day shots have a wide range of character, with the flares and refraction feeling very filmic, especially with the sun overhead and the hood off. Fully closed the flares have a distinct asymmetrical shape which I find unique, though it obviously represents a flaw in precision manufacturing that nitpickers will bicker about. I don't work for National Geographic, so I simply don't have a problem with this.
I have no commercial affiliation, but I needed a fast wide MFT lens that the Ronin-SC could even lift, and this was affordable. I found an open-box discounted unit from Adorama, and it arrived in perfect condition afai can tell. I wasn't able to find many reviews out when I bought this lens, so I figured may as well make this vid public. Enjoy a candid glimpse into my incessant wandering about in the dark.

This is the absolutely worst case scenario... just seeing what I can squeeze out of it using everything I've learned so far from tinkering. I'm still fairly impressed, but I can imagine if we had access to the training side, we could walk around with a fast lens and take some clean high resolution photos of the area prior to flying. Possibly even using Google "Night Sight" on the Pixel cameras! The upscaling still appears to be done frame by frame, so this seems like a viable path to better output. Combining the results with DaVinci Resolve's frame-adjacent temporal and spacial-aware noise reduction seems to help, but I bet a well constructed AI product could do a lot better one day.
Give it a shot; https://videoai.topazlabs.com/beta
I started with the terrible mjpeg files from the DVR, fixed the contrast (not much to work with here), exported an H.624 master from the clips I wanted, did the upscaling as follows;
640x480@8.97Mbps - AI - 2560x1920@121.832Mbps / 29.97fps
(one example) C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs\Gigapixel AI for Video\ videosrcmd.exe "C:\master\x00000991.mov" -o "C:\master\0991.mp4" -s 4 -b 0 -ad 0 -m 1 -gpu 0
This gets rid of a LOT of the blockiness and banding!
Threw the results back on the timeline (it appears short a few frames; no biggie), and then proceeded to destroy my GPU even further with heavy scaling and noise reduction as follows;
Timeline Canvas = 4K @ 29.97fps
Super Scale: 4x
Sharpness: High
Noise Reduction: High
Temporal NR:
Frames: 2
Mo. Est. Type: Faster
Motion Range: Small
L/C/M: 100
Blend: 0
Spacial NR Disabled
Motion Blur Disabled
Export is a 4K master H.625 through the NVIDIA codec @ 20.216Mbps VBR HQ (seems low, but I used the master tab, so I guess this is as good as it needs to be). Temporal NR makes things look a bit smoother than I'd like, but it gets rid of banding and a ton of random static from the analog transmission.
Now I'm going to try it on cleaner PowerPlay video from clips where I liked the flare and lighting.
