More Phantom 4 abuse... I tried to hover a few feet higher than the actual shells were exploding, since the prop wash probably wouldn't shield me from a direct hit as it exploded. It definitely kept all the flying sparks from touching the quad's shell or camera though. Surprising that the proximity to the explosions didn't effect the sensors at all... zero damage to Baro either.

Fat Shark Dominator HDO
ImmersionRC rapidFIRE VRX Module (v1.2.4 firmware)
Trying to get the best downlink video recording, while flying the terrible Emax TinyHawk camera. I tested all the possible deinterlacing methods, and Yadif 30fps seemed to be the best. 720x480p, 29.97fps NTSC
Definitely less static w/ the rapidFIRE module. Next I'll try with a better cam / vtx.

This time I disabled Super Scale entirely and was as conservative as noticeably possible on the Noise Reduction (in terms of GPU utilization);
Temporal NR:
Frames: 2
Mo. Est. Type: Faster
Motion Range: Small
L/C/M: 100
Blend: 0
Spacial NR Disabled
Motion Blur Disabled
I can't see much of a difference, and the render time was 20 minutes versus the 3ish hours I had to wait on the last one.

Day 1's ending crash broke an arm off. The stills show my (lack of?) jury-rigging skills out in the field. I didn't bring any spare anything, so had to make due with a chunk of steak knife and later a length of fiberglass rod chopped off an arrow shaft, which was the best I could find at Walmart to put this thing back in the air before the sun set for the weekend. It worked well enough to have the fun I set out to have while I was doin my boonie yo. Bonus... I had the rest of the arrow to tape an 808 cam onto, so I played with that a bit fer shitzn'gigglz.

Broke out the beater... has the fancy RPM filter, but one motor bell has no top c-clip and the shaft is loose so the bell gets sucked off the stator by the prop, then it stalls and falls back, gets spun up again and pulls up until it stalls again falls back... in an oscillation that causes a lot of unpredictability. But, figured I'd milk the session for all it was worth, and continued flying into the rain.

Testing repairs after a day of hard flying at the powerloop training barn terminated in a crash that somehow melted the motor connectors on the back two motors. To be fair, I may have pre-heated them chasing this Mustang; https://youtu.be/ZOEVEh2UcDE?t=1 All 4 motors are now direct-soldered to the pads, and I tore off the melted sockets with my mini dikes. These flights were at 3°C, 5-7AM. I broke two more spokes tonight flying into light posts and crashing onto blacktop in the dark, but it's still flies fine. This is the first time I got to fly my IR-modded Tinyhawk S at night. The black glint tape worked well to find it in the dark against the blacktop as well, just in case the battery ever gets ejected and I can't make it beep or do the RSSI-dowsing rod thang.

BAT: Turnigy Nano-tech 300mah 2S 45~90C Lipo Pack
Added JST, 5V Beeper, Silicone Conformal Coating and black glint tape (hopefully I won't lose it with all these mods). I modded the Beetle lens for IR / night vision after removing it from the VTX. I used a VTX from a FireFly, cause it supports SmartAudio. I direct-soldered the "URUAV Micro UXII Stubby RHCP" to the FireFly VTX and secured it between the rear props on the bottom.

The board mask was covering a bit more copper "+" pad, with vias... so I sand-papered it off and used 22awg... and welders to fix it without a total rebuild (I direct-soldered the motor wires; would've been grr). I screwed around with tuning... anyone get flutter with Kabab's suggested tune from the build guide?
I gotta pack the lab up, more later.
