As summer comes to a close even a long close at that it's important to capture what's been growing this year because we're in full production. The lot is small and the total growing space is just about 1,200 square feet or a little less than a quarter acre. With a lot of reading, trial and error (lots of errors) we're on our way to getting the most out of the land and helping the home be a producer, not a consumer. More importantly, it looks so nice. It's fun to get lost in all that's going on and the vision I had two years is starting to take shape. A maze of gardens that produce food, flowers, and a general feast for the eyes. Sure there are lots that don't grow but a permaculture approach to my plans and management makes what grows to grow well.
