[730] OPEC agrees to 1.2 million barrel production cut
OPEC agrees to its first oil output reduction in years, stating that it will it reduce production by 1.2 million barrels per day. Ameera David has the details. Bart Chilton, Host of "Boom Bust" on RT America, passed away on April 27 following complications due to a sudden illness. The former CFTC Commissioner was 58. Boom Bust Producer Daniel Brito is joined by Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman and Christy Ai to pay tribute to their friend.
The honorable Bart Chilton served as legislative director for three members of the House of Representatives and Executive Director of the Congressional Rural Caucus before he moved over to the Senate side of the capitol. There, he was a senior aide to Senator Tom Daschle. In between those two positions, he served as a deputy chief of staff to Clinton Administration Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman.
Bart was appointed to the CFTC in 2007 under President George W. Bush. He was re-nominated by President Barack Obama. At CFTC, Bart quickly developed a reputation as a regulator with a rare combination of insider knowledge and a gut instinct to fight for fairness and a break for the common man.
Always one to take on new challenges, Commissioner Chilton joined RT America to host the financial news program "Boom Bust," excelling at the task with his trademark charisma, and expertise.

Apple moves to revamp the iPad as more speculators snap up bearish bets after tumbling sales in 2015. Analysts say it’s partly due to the release of the iPhone 6 and 6 plus that features larger screens for consumers plus the fact that iPad upgrades aren't offered as quickly. Regardless of the reason, Apple iPad sales are slipping in the consumer market, having fallen for six straight quarters. That’s why the company is now looking to revamp the tablet and refocus it towards businesses. Ameera David weighs in.
Then, Edward Harrison sits with John McDonnell, the co-founder and CEO of Bitnet, a digital commerce platform. The two discuss the future of the cryptocurrency, Bitcoin and how it’s becoming more of a payments and transaction system.
