Thailand Tips: Speak Da Lingo? Making the important effort to learn some Thai
This is my new series of vlogs. I am NOT an expert and I do NOT know everything, so what I say in these vlogs is based on my personal experience or research. I have been a visitor to Thailand for 2 years this month (October), I first went on a "last ditch, what the hell" trip following my failed back surgery. I could hardly walk and took my walking aid with me. I went to Udon Thani to go to an Agency for finding Thai ladies, who suggested that my disablement was not a factor in finding a nice lady for long term relationship. The agency allegedly vet the members and a lot of their clients come from America. The owner is an ex-Brit and his wife a Thai, had started the agency because of their experiences with relationships etc.
So, I have a Thai wife and have been going back and forth for two years. During 2015 my wife got a visitor visa and came to the UK for 6 months. Unfortunately the UK Immigration denied a second visa this year based on made up reasons.
THIS EPISODE: I discuss the need for you to learn some basic Thai, and if you're British, to get away from the stereotypical attitude we present about not making the effort and when they don't understand we just speak LOUDER A N D S L O W E R!

So, I have a Thai wife and have been going back and forth for two years. During 2015 my wife got a visitor visa and came to the UK for 6 months. Unfortunately the UK Immigration denied a second visa this year based on made up reasons.

There are 500+ places of interest in the UK under the National Trust banner and I will be attempting to visit as many as I can, reporting as I do all the important stuff relative to accessibility.
In this episode I visited a 15th century tithe barn, near Gloucester. It isn't very accessible but I managed to walk inside a little bit to see the roof, a feature that is prominently unique.

We went to view a rental house, more appropriate for me being single storey. Anyway, it wasn't worth the 8,500 baht fees because the place was a wreck and needed a clean.
On the way back I stopped at the money exchange. Later Tad and I went to Lotus and had a look at the "bikes".

THIS EPISODE: I talk about the special assistance in Bangkok airports called MAAS, or MAS. This is a service generally provided free (tipping is optional) at the airports of Thailand. It is a wheelchair and baggage assistance service that can be very useful for the disabled traveler.
In this blog I talk about two incidents that have happened while using the service, but in general the service is great and very vital, because (especially in Bangkok) the distances between gates can be a long long way. I did walk it once, but never again. Plus the extra benefit is the people will help you with baggage and going through the on arrival visa section.
