There is no contradiction in Scripture with this paradigm. The God of the Old Testament is the same God of today. At what point do we submit to truth and simply allow God to be who He is? If God will send unrighteous, unrepentant rebels to eternal suffering (ETERNAL suffering), who are we as His creatures to question His decrees in this world? Who are we to question whether He permits a man to be born blind, or deaf, or crippled? Who are we to question our God who lays a curse on mankind and the very ground on which we walk? Our thankfulness is only intensified by understanding this reality. And never forget the reason evil exists. Man brought it into the world at the moment he chose to question the word of his Creator. How do we reconcile this? Our duty is plainly stated in Matthew 28, where Jesus says, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” If we question God’s authority to do His will with His creation, then should we question this, too? No. Of course not. We follow our Savior wherever His truth leads. We preach the gospel on every corner, in every city, in every nation. We carry His word of truth to a lost and dying world because it IS a matter of life and death. God allowed us to break our relationship with Himself. But He also provided the Savior who restored it! Our God is holy: loving, wrathful, and just. What a magnificent love it is to forgive ungrateful rebels like we are. Let us focus on that rather than questioning God's decrees over His creation.
